Why is there always talk of losing your a/c when you go twin turbo?? What kit makes you lose your a/c? I still have mine and I have the HP kit and I thought you kept the a/c with both HPP and the Hellion TT kit so wtf???

Jesus Christ, I'm sorry.

There a couple turbo mod motor cobras of variuos years around me. They are homemade turbo kits, but they seem to run pretty well. No driveability issues as I see them on the streets in the summer time. They sound stock at idle unitl you hit boost.

I have a Hellion T76 single kit waiting install. No cutting or welding needed. All factory accessories will be kept and stay in their stock location. I live in MA where we need emissions and Hellion designed their kit to be used with cats if your state requires them. I hope to have mid 600's w/ 15ish #'s of boost. Hopefully my mid summer I'll have it done.

Why twin over single, I don't want to hear faster spooling, cause I'm not buying it. I kind of like Hellions single kit as they claim no cutting of your car and you keep the A/C wich is imparative.
You'd think with 2x the exhaust blowing in a single set-up would spin-up pretty damn fast even though the singles get fairly large.
Hell I don't know...

Why no turbos again? Huge pia? Just as much power with the big twin screw? Please elaborate as I'm actually considering taking this step, however, I'd have to sell my low milage 1963 galaxie with the origional 427/4 speed to do it, so in a way I want to hear that it isn't a good Idea but if it's insanely fast, cool, durable, and makes no sense not to then so be it.

Got any pictures of the galaxie, i like those cars..???

Actually I don't have any on my digital camera, maybe this summer I'll break it out and get some taken. I'ts black with black interior, and it's actually a 1963 1/2 so it's got the fastback roofline, sweet car but since I purchased my Cobra, it's been on the back burner.

If/when I get mine going Blake (vadorsnake) we'll have to do some runs. Interested to see if I can hang w/ a TS if I use a little nitrous to spool.

for me it has been sort of a pain to get things set up perfectly. But after everything is installed, adjusted, and tuned its a dream to drive. Lots of time, money, and busted hands. id do it again, but a KB 2.8 is running in close 2nd...

the reason I wouldn't go with a large TS is because you need to really spin them to see them shine or mod the hell out of the rest of the car to get the most out of it if you try to keep it at lower boost. and obviously, more boost, higher octane fuel.

turbo, I keep the same tune from 10# to 25+# and just change my fuel at about 19-20#. so I run 93 octane from 10-18#, but usually don't run more than 15 on the street. so you make more power at lower boost with the turbo than the TS. they are just more efficient obviously.

Like Trbo Vnm said the nice thing is you can go from 500 to 650 HP in 5 seconds by adjusting your boost controller. Also, if it matters my gas milage was way better on my turbo car. I was getting 20 mpg driving it around. I never saw that on my eaton car.

i finally got my turbo cobra with a built motor and wouldn't trade it for anything. I love the 03 cobra body and just knowing i can beat anybody on the street makes all the money and time worth every penny.

Absolutely. I don't miss the slipping (and shredded) belts, or any of the other challenges that go with superchargers. The car runs better, gets better gas mileage, and is just way nicer to live with. The ONLY delta for me with the Turbo is the lag compared to something like a roots blower, but just keep the damn RPMs up and you can forget about lag.

If I were doing it again, the only change I would make would be to go with twins (Hellion didn't have this kit when I did mine). Hmmmm. Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Jason! :-D

Enjoy the car for the summer and bring it on up later in the yr. a couple 57's will work out nicely for you. you have everything else ready for it.

I will do that, It's all black and it's a 63 1/2 so it has the fastback roofline and the interior is also black. And yeah that 427 with no nitrous or blower in the 4100lb. Galaxie would probably surprise the crap out of a hand full of stockish Terminators around these parts.
