Need some feedback.

The Nitto 555r DR is a V rated speed tire = up to 149 mph.

Just wondering if many people are just ignoring that and driving +149
up to the 165/170* mph these cobras will go on the 555r dr?
Has it been ok? or have you blown a tire?

Or do you always use a Z tire ( 555rII or NT05) for safety on your top speed runs.

Any info or opinion pls?

regards

* of course on closed road only :D

i would think if someone blew a tire @ 170mph they probably won't be able to respond to this question.

Tires might be ok but not sure about the motor tho they dont really like 5th and 6th gear pulls. Just a lil FYI. Is there like a Canadian autobahn because I dont thinkg ur gonna trap those speeds.

That's just 16-21mph over the rating...I'm sure there's some wiggle room, ......

the most i ever do is redline 4th, mainly because of the 5th gear wot grenading factor. from reading this forum, it appears to go up ten fold

on the nitto DR's with the "y" rating if you go over 149 mph i think you would be fine as long as its not for long periods of time. But stay within reason of 149. The tires not going to instantly blow up at 150 mph. IMO

as long as its not prolonged so the tires get a chance to cool down it might be ok.

I've taken my BFG's above that. Really quickly then thew out the anchor
