Ok phyco. You would kill someone for stealing your car??? Are you serious? I think a life is a little more important then a car.
And who cares if the girl threatened him? hes a cop. He should be able do deal with threats. Thats what a judicial system is for. I do not need to hear the sound for it to be clear that this guy was on a power trip and used exessive force.
Seems to be way to easy for anyone to be a cop nowadays.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. Where does the "protect and serve" part come in??

You are damn right I would blast someone for gettin into my shit. It's the same thing as if I found her in my house stealing my stuff in my house. I do not give a flying shit about if she is a girl and 15... she wants to do big crime, she deserves big punishment, end of story. Maybe it is cause I'm from TX, but you don't get away from stealin here... hell it's even in the laws!

wow, cops are starting to become real bitches nowadays! Give me a break, after watching the video its clear he used excessive force! She hardly "assulted" him with her shoes. If you want an example of assult watch the cop's role in this vid. Strikes her twice while on the ground...while she is hardly moving. Resisting arrest? haha thats funny. I hope this scum loses his job and is thrown in jail. God cops like this asshole really pisses me off!!!

Well said. If that guy was not wearing a uniform and just started to feed that girl shots this would be a different discussion, even if she did "threaten" him.

That's a random guy. NOT a trained police officer who is taught how to deal with this situation. You guys have NO idea what happened before this tape. I'm sorry, but this video just isn't enough...

not enough?!? What else do you need...its on tape! Even his lawyer knows he is in deep shit thats why he asked for the video not to be made public. Plus...what do you think she did...threaten to scratch him with her nails? She looked overpowered in that video along with being man-handled.

I'm sorry, but I just don't feel sorry for some little girl who tried to steal a persons vehicle. In no way shape or form do I feel sorry for her.

So a police officer is trained to beat the crap out of someone because of a damn shoe? (insert sarcasm so people dont take me seriously)Thats funny. I dont know but if someone threw a shoe at me, I would probably just laugh. But hey i'm not a TRAINED police officer. (insert sarcasm again) lol
Seems like anything is assault nowadays. toss a balled up piece of paper at at cop its assault, or so it seems. Carefull where you sneeze.

The girl asked her mom if she could take the car out and she said no cuz mommy thought the girl's b/f was a shady character. They took the car out anyway with the b/f driving and the mom calls the fuzz as an act of "tough love". Shit hit the fan afterwards as we see in the vid.

Excessive force in this case probably, and Im sure he will be fired. But all you dip shits on here bashing ALL Cops b/c of .0001% of the police population are Hippocrates.

oxw01svt, it's not in a cops job description to help a non driving moron get out of a ditch that he on his own put himself in.

And everyone of you other jackass's with your "I hate cops" attitude. I hope to the good God your life or a loved one is saved by one someday.

Ignorance like this pisses me off. A million cops out there doing a good job, and a few bad eggs means they all should burn.

We all know for a fact professional athletes and even men and women of the armed forces have f**k ups. Do you hate all of them too?

I dont hate cops (im even in the process of applying) I dont think all cops are like that. I know its a very small number. But you only hear about the bad things cops do. Usually you dont hear all the good things. Just way to much in this situation.

BEATINGU i can agree with you that i was stupid for going into a ditch BUT before the cop asked if i was ok he imediately started mouthing off, shit i could of had a broken arm or a passenger that got hurt really bad for all he knew. cops have cuased me nothing but problems, but as i said in my first post YES there are GOOD cops out there doing theyre duty and protecting and serving but until i meet one of theyse cops i will look at cops the same way i did yesterday. Another note my house is in an area where my garage is in one town and my house and front door are in another. I had my car broken into and some things stolen and i TRIED to call my local cops that i pay taxes to and they gave me shit and told me to call the other police dept well i called the other dept and they gave me the same deal call the other dept so i had to argue for at least a half hour telling them that i pay taxes in your town and they finnaly came. Now you mean to tell me that if i had someone robbing my house and i call the town that i PAY taxes in they would tell me to call the other dept and give me a runaround about how my house is in the other town, thats some bullshit.

All of you saying "This is why I hate cops" and all, please don't put all cops in the same group as the morons in the video..

Dude, maybe she was being a little bitch. Maybe she was talkin shit the whole time and though she was hot shit. Even before the video maybe it was a struggle to arrest her in the first place. You know I dont really like cops either but more and more people act like they are tough shit and cant be touched and she got what was coming. Did the cop go overboard probably. But **** it. I dont care. she needed to be put in her place.

You wonder why the sound is gone? Hmm.. what if she had mouthed off after kicking the shoes off and said that her family would kill the officer when they found out she had been arrested? That'd be a hell of a threat, but there's no sound, so we don't know. And when they put her on the ground she looks to be resisting. Don't we see this all the time with men who get arrested? They resist, they get beat up or tazed. Simple. Hard to make a CLEAR judgement if there is no sound.

Also, wasn't she arrested for STEALING A CAR?! Here's what should have happened... when the owner of the car saw her trying to bust into his personal private property and drive away with it, he should have just blasted her with a shotgun and then this police officer would have NEVER been in this situation to begin with.

And some of you will think I'm a terrible person for thinking this, but you can't say you wouldn't want to kill someone who stole your car, even if it was a 15 year old girl. Race and Age do NOT play a part when a crime is committed, sorry.

I agree with allot of what you said, and I also believe, if we were allowed / enabled to use deadly force, then there would be far fewer crimes.

However, I still differ on the use force, in this scenario, based on the conditions noted in the film. And again, I don't agree with the disrespect shown, but as an officer, who is sworn to maintain the welfare of those around him, breaking into a cell, and overpowering a girl who weighed less than half of what he did, with a partner, was just absurd. I do agree with restraint and with force, but the overpowering done here was far to much. I can assure you, nothing she said was worth the two blows to the base of the skull, potentially unhinging her jaw or brain damage, after she was restrained. Had she come at the officer, or been in a situation where his only course of action was to use such force, I would agree, but otherwise, I still call this guy a pussy.

I have had years of training, and most officers I have had the pleasure to train with share my assessment on the use of force. Appropriate measure, at appropriate time, and you never make it personal, even though it is so hard not too. It is your job, no more no less. I fired a bouncer at a bar this weekend for the very same thing.

Again, I carry respect beyond measure for any man or women who would carry the responsibility of being an officer of the law, but to do so requires candor and valor above most of us.

it doesnt matter what happened before the tape. she could have just spit in his face or slapped him upside the head, or called him a fat pig and threatened to have his whole lineage of relatives wiped out. i doubt the polieman's handbook calls for beating the person in custody's ass as a proper response. whatever may have happened before the tape, could just be compiled on to the list of other charges she has going against her. when presented before a judge, they can also report her attitude and behavior while in custody, for the judge's consideration. its the judge/jury's job to dispense justice, not the police.

probably? beating the crap out of someone, especially someone half your size/weight, in HANDCUFFS, for mouthing off?? :??: if any of us did that we'd be looking at felony battery!

lol at the idea of the cop picking up her shoe and throwing it back at her :D
that is funny. but even that would be him lowering himself down to her level. he should be acting like a review board will be seeing this. would they approve?? if not, probably not a good idea to do it
