Trying to decide if I want to go with 17" or 18" rims form my 03 sonic blue cobra. Im leaning towards 17" because the tires are cheaper, but I don't want a lot of empty space in my tire well area, and for that reason I don't know if 18's would be better. So if you could post up you 17" setups, lowered setups included. Thanks

18's look much better than 17's... Yes, tires are alot cheaper with 17's, but don't look even close to as good.

I just don't see how only an inch difference will be that noticeable, which is why im trying to see people's setups. Specifically im looking at getting 17" chrome fr500, saleens, or bullets.

here is my 04 GT lowered on sportlines with 17" FR500. love the stance but kinda of regret not going with 18's. 18's just fill in the gap so much better and i believe raise the car about 1/2, which would be great for me since i scrape everything. but here are some pics:

I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it's a start.

18s almost universally look better than 17s. If you choose your tire size correctly, wheel size has nothing to do with filling up the well.

Yea but unless your car is nearly scraping the ground on 17s getting a sidewall that fills the rest of the gap well will look redneck as hell.

Right. My point is that tires shouldn't have anything to do with filling the well. For a dd car, you need to stick to within an inch or so of 25.5, regardless of wheel diameter.
If you're gonna lessen that gap, lower the car.

It doesn't seem like much in your head but that inch really is a big visual difference. Remember not only is the wheel bigger, but the tire sidewall is smaller, so that's why the look is a lot different. The 18s give the car a more sporty look, IMO.

I have 17s and 18s, and wish I didn't wait so long to get the 18s. That's not to say the 17s don't look good, but the 18s really do look a lot better.

I have pics of my car with both wheel setups on my streetfire profile in my sig.

I have both 17s fr500s and 18s cobra replicas so when I get tired of one size just switch to the next. I noticed with the 18s it is a little harsher ride, might handle a little better on smooth surface just because the tires are lower profile.
