Around 20lbs for the street tune and 25 for the race tune.

You should be fine, the kit comes with evolution wastegates that include 5psi springs that you can install. Provided that everything is installed correctly you should be able to get 20psi from the kit by regulating the turbos to 5psi. I have the kit on my car, the lowest bost I could get from the turbos was 11 psi 25 psi compounded, but I had some other issues. There are quite a few cars with this kit on the street with stock motors, and 90% of them are running meth injection to crank up the boost. Just out of the box on the low boost seeting ou should see between 650 and 700 rwhp.

so your saying with the hellraiser kit the least amount of boost is like 25psi and it's only doing 700rwhp im confused by the compound boost.

No, I saw 25psi, but I had some other problems with my wastegates. I was seeing more boost from the turbos than what the wastegate springs were rated at (5psi) I was seeing at least double that with the boost controller set on 0. In this config I say 25psi total but it would have been less if the wastegates were regulating the turbos to 5psi

So....how do you like it? Is it worth it?

sorry guys, been out of town with a funeral and vacation. figures it happens like that.

I gotta head to bed for early morning service and not sure how much I will be on the rest of the week do to driving and trying to enjoy vacation.

there is a very long thread in the pics/vid section about the compound boost. it has a lot of good info in it and more than I could give you. but be careful, you need to weed through the garbage posts that nobody believes it works and people calling BS on it all.

novi2000 has some good info as he has the kit. we believe and he can expand more, they problem he had was the way the vac. lines were routed.

if you want 20# from just the turbo's, you are looking at mid to upper 30# compounded if you are using the stock upper eaton pulley and stock lower pulley.

in that thread in the pics/vids section, I believe the guy who wrote the article for MM&FF posted pretty good info in there. I don't recall his username, but I think it is near the middle/end of the pages.

Thanks novi2000 for the info. I would actually like to run 20lbs at the turbos, compounded into the 30+ at the manifold.

Also thanks TRBO VNM for the heads up on the thread in the pics and vids I am gonna check it out now.

w/ the turbos at 7# and the stock blower pulley combo, mm&ff were seeing 45# of boost, compounded, they couldnt use mech. boost gauges to read due to how fast the boost was made. with the turbos up at 10# they were seeing somewhere in the 60# range. all with supporting fuel and tune. the irs was about to collapse on itself however. each pull on the dyno would put such stress on the axles and such force that it was pulling them forward in the car and creating a great howling noise from tires on the rollers

This kit is pretty rowdy, I don't have any regrets no lag on the initial hit and power is strong up top.

Honestly I would love to do it! It sounds awsome.....I just would probably plan a motor build down the road. Funny no one outside the cobra world beleives people are doing these compounded boost set ups when I mention it.

No that is way off, here is the exact text from the MM&FF website.

The engine was responsive to timing and rpm changes. Urist opened the wastegate by making one turn on the knob and started with 14 degrees of timing. Utilizing just 4 psi at the turbos and 16 psi at the manifold, the power registered 611 rwhp and 646 rwtq. That's a far cry from the 385-rwhp output that bone-stock '03-'04 Cobras normally put out on the Dyno Edge chassis dyno.

We wanted to see some big numbers, but the Hellion crew stepped things up, one chassis pull at a time. Another run was made at 14 degrees and at the 6,000-rpm limit, with the only change being an increase in boost. Output was 846 rwhp and 720 rwtq, as boost registered 23.70 at the turbos and 38.50 in the manifold-this combo needed more timing. Urist inserted his opinion: "These turbos needed to be hit harder down low, and the fuel curve had to be leaned out some more."

It was time to make big power, so the timing was upped to 16 degrees, and the Cobra was run up to 6,500 rpm. The results were 1,048 rwhp and 900 rwtq, with turbo boost coming in at 26.8 pounds and the manifold registering 41. One more pull was made, and Urist cleaned up the fuel map a bit and put the timing at 19 degrees. The turbo boost showed 27 psi, while the mani-fold saw a peak of 44 psi due to increased engine rpm. Spinning the blower harder will result in a greater manifold pressure. Final output was 1,188 rwhp and 1,015 rwtq.

Yeah, I will probably not crank it up till I am ready to build a motor. But I think I should be ok around 700 to 800rwhp with the stock motor.

you do not want over 30# on the stock motor. I wouldn't even push more than 27 max if that. which means you are not changing much with a controller.

5# from the turbos and 9# from the stock upper, you will see close to 20#, hopefully less. then just add a couple pounds at most at the turbo's and you will be up in the higher 20# range, could be more.

you have to be very very careful. it doesn't take a lot to make huge boost numbers in a compound setup. and getting to 30+ you will start lifting the heads on a stock motor.

I am just going to take the car to Hellion and have them do the tune. That way I know for sure the car is tuned by someone with the knowledge of compound boost. Hell they made the kit.

If something goes later on, then so be it. Thanks for all the advice everyone.

Wow...thats a long trip from michigan! Good luck man. Can't go wrong with a Hellion kit. Mine is a work of art!

LOL yeah it is thanks. It's even farther from China, that is where I am right now. So any ideas on how to get the car there? From Michigan not China.

With the turbos at 7 pounds and the blower at 8 pounds would be around 20 lbs. with the turbos at 20 lbs you would see around 40+ pounds.
