I have the turbowerx and a restrictor and it still smokes. The pump is not doing what it is supposed to. I contacted Turbowerx several times and have not gotten a response at all. I'm going to take it off and run two lines into the pan and call it done.

Is it setup like mine or no? That's interesting that yours is still smoking. Mark gave me instant responses via phone and email when I needed help.

I called them today to ask about my leaky turbos and they said Nate would call me back when he got in ......never did, and he never does. Plus their emails don't ever work for me. I'm just going to keep bugging them.

I call them and remind them everyday. It has worked for me in the past. I got some wrong parts originally and I got the right ones mailed out pretty quick with constant nagging. The way I look at it, if they want me to stop calling then send me my sh** that I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR!!!! Sorry I'm ranting and this is not the place to do so. Good luck with your dealings with them.

hmmm, I ordered wastegate springs in August, paid for them and still don't have them. Called to get my money back two weeks ago and still no money. HP Performance in Roswell, NM (have to make that clear) can go to hell for all I care. Bunch of damn liars and horrible customer service.

well, I am removing my turbos tomorrow and sending them out. They quoted me at 1.5 week turnaround time. I have a feeling I am rolling the dice with this, but whatever. $185/turbo for a rebuild isn't that bad I guess.

they quoted me 1.5 weeks as well and I sent them out first week of Jan. They are supposed to be here tomorrow or thurs. I really hope it will be. How many miles on your kit? I think I just fell under the one year warranty because I'm not being charged, plus I only have 600 miles on the entire set up.

Blown04GT: I couldn't agree more. I sympathize with your frustration, I just didn't want go off in this thread, but I'm right there with you.

Did you have restrictors installed before the engine was started with the turbos?

They received the turbos yesterday, so I called today and they are already "in process." Hopefully this luck continues and I get them back in a couple weeks.

I did finally recieve mine this past Tues. 19th. They forgot a few key pieces in true HP fashion, but to there credit they got me the stuff they forgot the next day. So I put everything back together last night and so far so good. How do you post pics on here so I can show the setup.
I hope it goes well for you, I do believe persistance is the key.

Just to add to the discussion here:

The oil seals were shot in my turbos as well with approx 5k miles on the kit. I just got them rebuilt by a local guy I know that deals with turbos (mostly marine diesels) and I'm in the process now of trying to figure out what size restrictors to use. After speaking with Nathan at HP I was told to go with 0.090" per turbo or 0.200" if feeding both turbos with the same restrictor. All the research I do says that a restrictor around of the size of 0.050-0.065" (per turbo) would be best suited so I don't know what to think. My car didn't have any restrictors but did have individual drain lines. I was really surprised to see that y2k2gt uses only one 0.065" restrictor for both turbos, that isn't insufficient???

I don't like the idea of my turbos burning oil again because it didn't take very long for it to get very severe. It also sucks that I have to get my turbine housings re-coated again by Jet-Hot because when my turbos were rebuilt they hot-tanked the turbine housings and it took the coating right off.... GRRRR

I used a .065 restrictor on each turbo and has proven well. Still on brake in tune, under full boost (only 7 lbs.) there is no smoke:rockon: I do however need to let the motor completely warm up before driving to keep it from smoking. I would do that anyway. The Exa-pump from Turbowerx I believe is well worth the investment as well.
