If anyone actually wants a heat shield for their Ciotti CAI, you can get it from JLT for 20.00 out of their RAI kit. K&N told me to screw and buy the whole FIPK for 149.00 if i want the stupid heat shield!!

this is a really clean set up.. i was thinking of trying to fabricate something to hold my k&n drop in filter onto the stock intake tube, but that's probably more work that its worth and not as reliable...

probably a stupid question but is the 9" filter you reccomend here as part of the kit washable?

It's definitely washable and any of the cleaning kits will work :)

FYI; just called WMS, and they are having quality control issues with the manufacture of the rubber couplers (maf to tube, tube to TB) and so they are not selling any of the velocity tubes until they get the quality issues sorted out. I talked with 'Joel' and he indicated that the problem is with a supplier and they hope to have it sorted out soon as its affecting all of their products that have rubber couplers - no ETA. He indicated to call back in a few weeks.

Joel also indicated he had one black powder coat tube in stock - I wonder how much diff teh ceramic coat vs the powder coat makes?

EDIT: Just read this whole thread thru - has anyone been able to get a WMS velocity tube since mid-2007? I get the impression that WMS has had this supplier problem for a long time and simply hasnt dealt with it (?).

The c&l pipe is much longer and you'll have to go with the 6" conical, but other than that it should work fine.

If you look at the kit on C & L's site it looks to me to use the 9" filter not the 6". Anyone know for certain? :dw:

Attention **C&L USERS**I have the C&L truflow pipe and baught everything above, and it does not fit. The 9'' bigmouth took some serious menipulating to get it all together. It barely and I mean barely fit, put in some motor flex and serious problems may arise. I called UPR today and they said I can exchange parts no problem. I will keep the thread posted when I get the new filter in.

p.s. This is a sweet setup and everything else is great, just make sure to do a thorough mock up with any other intake tubes besides WMS.
.

Ahhh... I did a mock up, but after it was together decided it wasn't a good idea. I already had the C&L pipe so I've been lookin for something to attach to the end, thats when I stumbled upon your write up. I'ts all good though the UPR guys have good customer service and said they would exchange it no problem figured I'd let everyone else know. The C&L peice fit like crap by the TB any how. I ended up grinding it down so that it made a nice flat seal against the stock peice. Changed the angle for the better I supose.

So the issue with the C and L is that it goes too far forward so the air filter does not fit?
What about running a 90 degree turn off the maf and go down into the fender well?

ok this question could have already been answered but I have a JLT CAI and fitting it underneath the stock STB is definately out of the question. I have one installed on my 97 cobra and it's a coupe, to be honest I don't even miss the brace, didn't even feel like it madea difference. of course like I said mine's a coupe, on a vert i'm sure the difference is more apparant

Do JLT's not fit under strut tower braces on ALL Mustangs or just a few model years? On their website the 94/94 intake set up is shown w/ the stock strut tower brace.

I think I was one of the last ones to get a WMS. I got a good deal on the "left over parts that they could put together for me"

He sold me a ceramic coated tube that he said was dented (the dent was on the bottom of the tube and I actually had to look close for it anyway)
They also said the rubber couplings had pinholes in them and the one I got looks fine with a little tire dressing on it.

They are really nice on the phone and the stuff arrives quickly.
