I was at the bank w/ my friend (he was getting some money from his bank to buy some transmission fluid). So I'm sitting there w/ my windows down waiting for him, when a cop walks buy and looks at my car and say, "How's it run?" I was like, "Good" :) So, I asked him if he wanted to see under the hood and he said sure. So he opened the hood and his first question was like, What kind of exhaust do you have? I said my car has dual chamber flowmasters and an <clearing throat> "aftermarket" O/R h-pipe :rolling: He saw that I had already bypassed the smog pump and he was like, Just take that thing off and you'll lose some weight from the front. I was like  did he just say that? He said it'd be a good idea to go ahead and remove the smog junk (which I am going to do, just haven't gotten that taken care of yet, I've been working on getting the battery relocation kit installed first). So he said, "Treat it right and it will treat you right, ya know what I mean?" I was like, Yes sir! He said he'd hate to see it wrapped around a tree somewhere (which has happened a lot around the country w/ teens and racing :nonono: ) So we talk a little more and he tells me he has an 89 Mustang (my fav. year for the foxbody Mustang :coolman: )
Well, we say goodbye and go to the parts store. My friend and I were sorta shocked that we met such a nice, Mustang-fan cop :) Maybe I'll see him at the track one day. This just goes to show that there are a lot of nice cops, well, at least around where I live

Sounds like a cool cop...most LEO's I have ever encountered have been very nice and respectable....but then again it doesn't hurt if you're nice as well  I wonder if he'd take his cruiser to the track :p

Just out of curiosity, why the 89? I like the 90.5-93s the best because of the guages and interior and the ponys on the outside, but why is the 89 your fav?

89 mainly b/c it has no airbag so I don't have to worry about setting it off when I'm working on it, I like the steering wheel better, also the 89 doesn't have the little "bag" at the bottom of the door (I took mine off b/c the look like junk). Also, I've talked w/ a guy who has seen several 90-92 stock blocks split w/ 500+ hp but he said the 88-89 blocks usually hold up longer  I'm not sure what all of the rest of the interior looks like, I like my interior, but after I get a 6 or 8 point roll bar w/ full body harness, I'm probably going to put in an 89 steering wheel in my car.

Cool cop.

I met a couple cool LA county Sherrifs at the track of all places. I was in the staging lanes waiting for our turn to come up (domestics don't run at the same time as imports there). This cop car comes up along the staging lanes real slow. I noticed the cops checking out my car as they drive by it. So, I said, "You guys be nice to us when we're leaving here tonight." One of them responded, "We'll be off duty when you guys are done." They asked me if that was my car, and we started talking about my mods. They were pretty cool.

Cool Deal  He must be a car nut as well.

Id say in general all LEO's have been cool.

Sister dated an LAPD officer  Talk about getting some were fast until we get pulled over...but thats the fun part of the trip :D

Juan LACR they were cool. U should check out Irwindale. Not sure what city cop he is but they have him run a fixed up Chevy Sunfire... :D

Last time i was pulled over...dude could of busted me for no Cats & Load Exhaust but he just asked if i wanted to keep it....yeah of course i said. He just said stop tail gating

 to who ever that was

Oh if ur on the wrong side of the law....of course ur going to think bad things about them but its a fair trade off. Been there & done that..id rather make friends new friends now.
