How's it compare to JLT ?

Never had a JLT, but compared to the MAC CAI, it seems like alot smoother acceleration (unless I'm imagining it). I will be taking it to the dyno once I get my SCT XCal. I will see what happens!!!

I have a feeling the JLT may make a few more ponies as it has a larger tube, but it doesn't fit under the STB which is a deal breaker for me. I had mine off for a few weeks and I hated it, these floppy ass verts need all the bracing they can get :)

Attention **C&L USERS**I have the C&L truflow pipe and baught everything above, and it does not fit. The 9'' bigmouth took some serious menipulating to get it all together. It barely and I mean barely fit, put in some motor flex and serious problems may arise. I called UPR today and they said I can exchange parts no problem. I will keep the thread posted when I get the new filter in.

p.s. This is a sweet setup and everything else is great, just make sure to do a thorough mock up with any other intake tubes besides WMS.

Aww hell man I could have told you that the C&L wasn't going to work with the 9" filter, back when I was putting this kit together I got measurements on the C&L pipe, realized it puts the MAF too far forward and also doesn't have a ceramic coating like the WMS and decided not to use it.

Ahhh... I did a mock up, but after it was together decided it wasn't a good idea. I already had the C&L pipe so I've been lookin for something to attach to the end, thats when I stumbled upon your write up. I'ts all good though the UPR guys have good customer service and said they would exchange it no problem figured I'd let everyone else know. The C&L peice fit like crap by the TB any how. I ended up grinding it down so that it made a nice flat seal against the stock peice. Changed the angle for the better I supose.

Correct, the JLT's don't even come close to clearing the stock STB which is why I decided to piece together this set up with the best pieces out there.

WOW I never knew that...I swear I've seen JLT's on some engines that have a STB...anyone know if this is the case or I'm losing my mind?

You can cut off the cross bar that connects the strut towers and just leave the little bars that go back to the firewall and the JLT will fit, but that's about it.

I currently have the BBK CAI. I have heard nothing but bad things about it. It came with the car when i bought it. I wouldnt even fall for the shiny part, the chrome is flaking and peeling off of it all over, prob because it gets so hot. I think I will be upgrading to this set up shortly!

Do it! You wont regret it.

Ciotti - Did you ditch the MAF screen, or did you sandwich it between the adapter and the MAF?

Yeah I saw that, I did the same but there is still a decent gap between the two peices, wondering if you had the same. I'm not worried about it, just being meticulouse ya' know

I am DEFINITELY not paying that much for that system. Especially since I dont want to get rid of my factory maf. That being said, maybe all of that can be bought seperately without the MAF, and you could adapt it to fit your factory?

Since WMS is out of stock on the upper tube I was thinking about just getting the MAF adapter and the 9 inch filter.
Did you measure to see if the 9 inch filter will work with stock setup?
This way I can run the bigger filter and when the WMS pipe is in stock I can order that.
