Heading to Vegas with the L this weekend...

Anyone doing anything Sunday or Monday? I'm going to be pulling a 5x8 enclosed trailer up some time Saturday to drop off some items. I would love to be able to meet up with some people if possible. Sunday I have to drop off the trailer but will be staying in Henderson at my bro's house and not heading back to Tucson until later in the afternoon Monday. It's a long shot but it's worth a shot

Take the I-15, you will run into a lot more traffic, but it is so much more direct than the 215 route.

Sorry for the hella late reply. It was not a great trip by any means. The reason i was going was to drop off my soon to be ex-wifes stuff. 2 Bookcases and a fully loaded 5x8 uhaul with a 45mph max rating? Yeah right.

So it was loaded and I began the trip at about 4pm. 70 to 80 mph the whole way. Trip went pretty smooth until I thought I could go over the Hoover Damn. Wrong. The checkpoint wanted to unload the trailer and open every box. Forget that. I drove back to Kingman (check point is over 65 miles from Kingman, so there goes 2 hours + the other 1.5 hours to get back to Vegas. The Uhaul trailer did pretty damn well at 120 mph until I realized that the shitty trailer tires would probably melt so back to 80 it was (note 65 mph speed limit, but I'm a man on a mission damn it, I got no time for 65, and no one, and I mean no one else was on that road). So I get into town and hit my brothers house at about 12:30, that blew the track night off. But I still managed 11.5 mpg at 70 to 80 pulling this trailer modded. Only hit boost a couple times in the mountains and on my way back to Kingman.

So Sunday morn I wake to a full on home cooked meal thanks to mom, mmm family is good sometimes My Brother and I head to my ex's moms place where she'll be to drop off and set up everything, tv, entertainment center, tivo, computer... I just want to leave. We leave around 3:30pm to drop this fuggin trailer off because I'm starting to have withdrawls of speed. DO NOT EVER hammer your truck with an unloaded trailer, it will go wherever it wants, this is not suggested. So we get to Uhaul and spend nearly 2 hours trying to get rid of this thing. Only one other person is there, dropping something off, 10 people behind the counter not a one working. We finally get it off the truck and I leave my signature on the way out 295mm wide times 2

Lets start sunday night. Hooter in Sunset station is up first. Got to go see this Brazilan girl who somehow knows my name even though I only see here every 6 to 8 months. 2 pitchers of Hep and a burger, and a different girl from Brazil. Off to PT's, 2 Fat tires then it's off to BJ's 'Sports Bar' 5 fat tires 3 shots of Patron gold, I remember my brother saying, 'we should get going' and then me waking up in bed. I grabbed my shirt off the floor and there is his tire print dead center of my chest, I guess I hit it getting out of the truck? No clue, even he doesn't know. my head is POUNDING! A hot shower and the need to get on SVTP to see if anyone is doing anything today, internet is down, again, go figure. I'm hurting, very very bad and I still feel drunk.:xpl:

Me and my little brother (who forgot to go to school) head to Jack in the box, couple 'after hang over taco's' and I'm on my way with a frappichino like coffee thing from this place next door to Jack in the box on Horzion and 95. Good coffee I might add.

Now the fun. I'm unloaded and on my way home. First up

I hit 151mph on this strech out by the dry lake bed between Henderson and Search light, gps confirmed for about 3 minutes, laughing my ass off the whole time. It was a little windy so I didn't want to push it.
Then hit Searchlight, where I got gas

Why? I don't know, it was there, I got it from watching drugs ok?
Up next is what I call the Lightning Freeway

Perfectly paved wonder of a road, I will go back and drive it several more times.
Then there was this guy

I guess he didn't like the fact that a silly old farm truck whipped past him, we played cat and mouse through the Lightning Freeway, it was a blast and he was a good sport even though he was never able to pass me
So that's what happened and why I've been out of touch with pretty much everyone. I get to keep my truck though so that's a plusepper:

I was on the road from Vegas to Kingman also !

On saturday we went to the Grand Canyon Westside.

As we stopped at a indianstore- beside a western restaurant a red Lightning passed us as we parked... :shrug:

On the way from LA to Barthrow i saw a purple Lightning with black Stripes on the other side of the road...

We spent our last night in Boulder City in the Best Western Hotel near Hoover dam.
