Okay, another question.....Which route is better when increasing the horsepower level on the car...the SCT MAF or the MAF Extender ??

If the MAF Extender works perfectly fine when increasing the horsepower, and it only cost 100-dollars, why do people even bother getting another Mass-Air Meter ??? or.....is there some sort of possible issue with the MAF Extender ??

If the MAF Extender works plenty fine, then I'm not going to bother with the SCT MAF

Tuners.......Any issue with this when tuning the Cars ????

I am not sure why people spend twice the money and go with a new MAF. I am going the extender route sooner or later....

Here is the reason: The SCT maf just bolts in to replace the stock unit. Real easy. The extender requires going into the wire mess behind the kick panel and screwing with that while standing on your head. I did that once for my Raptor and I decided to skip it for the MAF.

I was lucky enough to pick up a MAFXtender for $60 so I went that route. Some dont like the idea of having to cut in the factory wiring harness so they opt for the SCT MAF. Diablo is also coming out with something like the MAFXtender soon that doesnt require cutting into your wiring harness.

Thanks for the reply !! That's one of the things I was wondering about. I think I'll just spend the little bit extra and just get the MAF to save my save a little bit of work (okay, so I'm lazy  )

That "MAF'ia" sounds like a deal then. I may wait for that as well.

Maf extender has wires, SCTMAF is plug in.. I don't want anything in my car that can fail, and I'm not the best at wiring so I went with the thing that won't fail on me.

The SCT is made of... wiring
I get the point that it doesn't require you to do the wiring, but any electrical component can fail. Besides, MJ puts several backup failsafes in the MAFXtender.
