So looking at it, to me it looks like a neat crossover BEV that I might actually not mind driving around town. But then I see that they put the Mustang logo on it and IDGAF what anyone says or how awesome it is, that is NOT a mustang and just out of principal I will treat them like a mini-van (I will not get in them or own them or even rent them). If Ford were to say "We screwed up and we are removing all references to Mustang and renaming it" then I'd be ok with it and remove it from mini-van status.

Side note, if you have been paying attention to the news, fuel cell vehicles are very quickly coming to the top for efficiency, power, range, and ease of “refueling”. I think that these manufacturers who went all in on electric vehicles are going to be badly screwed, and will not be able to compete.

This or Porsche's synthgas. They can make that stuff today for around $4 a gallon. A few generations of improvements and the price will go down as the capacity goes up.

I just have no idea why anyone would want to buy an electric vehicle right now since the technology is leapfrogging to get something more suitable for consumers.
These electric vehicles will be worth zero in 10yrs… either the tech is outdated, or you can’t even get anything to “renew” them. They are throwaway vehicles that people are just dumping cash into.

It’s not something most members on here want but there’s enough consumers out there that want EV vehicles and the Mach E(puke) will compete well with the teslas.

Some just care about getting from a to b and
Why would it? Ford has the WORST auto drive Supercruise whatever you want to call it. It is TERRIBLE! It’s slower than Tesla and looks identical to a Mazda. And it’s 80k! Seriously I don’t know how ford has even sold any of these things. I can get a Mazda that looks identical to this thing with nicer interior for 38k. Also in 10 years the Mazda will still be a car and this ford will be in a landfill somewhere. Seriously I see more value in buying someones canned farts then throwing money at this pile of crap.

First, great review Travis. I would lament about no physical controls on the dash, too. Having to scroll through screens to do anything (like heating/AC) would not be a pleasant thing. And the lack of chargers in many areas is a big turn off right now. Hopefully things will change to greatly lessen or eliminate charging anxiety when your remaining range dips below 100 miles.

Or your range is only 100 miles at 0F...

Especially when the EV cult is telling us things like solid state bat's "are only a few years away". Aren't those supposed to make charge times close to gas?

Yeah, that's a given most here know. Bitter cold will reduce the range 12% or more. And that's with the heater off. Get the heater to blow out hot air in those cold temperatures outside and that loss jumps to 40% or more.

+1 for sure. They will be equivalent to an I phone 7 today.

for 49 grand

a Expl ST with tune only runs right with a Mach GT or Model Y perf with the BS 1 foot rollout 0-60 (that every car tester/manufacturer seems to use these days). Even with the hassle of E50, I still get 16-20 grand-ish for fuel costs and can easily go back to 93 (or even 87 tune) for long trips and have ZERO range/refill issues.

Tune Only 1/4 Mile and 0-60 Record

These things will be worth nothing in just a few years. It'll be old tech and treated the same as an old smart phone.
