Mickey thompsons do well with a bit of heat in them. It’s been a while since I’ve ran R888’s. Especially in those kinds temperatures. Florida doesn’t get that low too often. I’d say the mickeys but do a good burnout before hand

I would wait a week or two, and it'll be back in the 60s.

The Toyos won't be happy at that temp. I was thinking about switching mine out last winter. And we don't get as cold as you.

Will definitely be a good race he's the type of guy who buys a expensive car and thinks it will beat anything on the street don't get me wrong upper 10s in a 4 door is moving. But I'm making around 640 rwhp and a 1'000 pounds lighter.

You can't believe that you'll be able to hook that, right?

Drag radials in 30 degree weather! No chance of a hook up, potentially dangerous as well.
I'm gonna do some test runs before I take it seriously if I don't feel any bite from the tires will call it quits till next year just hope he doesn't sell it by then guy buys a new car every 4 months.

Op.... old racer math is 200* total.

If the track is 100... Tire Temps of 100.

Hot track... cooler Tire, less burnout.
Cold track... HOT tire... big long burnout.

You are gonna want to do one of those nasty, waste my tires completely brown smoke burnouts... and it's still gonna be dangerous and all... but that's best advice.

Maybe do a few practice hits with this technique

How much HP are you making? That makes a difference. No way in hell I'd race my cobra on a non prepped road with those temps.

Anything under 60* is hit or miss for traction in 2nd gear at 40 mph. I'm around 700rwhp.

As a fellow northerner at a little less power, I wouldn't bother. Even if you manage to catch some sort of initial bite, one bump or dip in the road could easily break traction. And that'll be after you've put on some speed. I vote wait until spring or risk sending her into a ditch. Sounds dark, but I don't think it's worth the gamble. He'll hook and go without a care in the world while you're white knuckling it trying to feather the throttle and keep it on the road. Then you'll "lose" and moneybags will feel vindicated for his car purchase.
