Interesting release. I watched most of the official release presentation last night. Crowd was uninvolved, host had to "force" them to clap lol. Presenters sucked, didn't offer much material in the form of numbers or hardware specs. Whatever. All that said -- my take aways:

--Dark Horse (gay ass name) will have the most NA power and a Tremec manual carried over form the gt350 and mach 1. Pretty cool.

--I happen to like the tech and the interior. These advances are what makes these cars continue to be "Better" cars than their predecessors. We all like gadgets.

-- Not a fan of the locked PCM. Hopefully a flash-type of work-around is in the works. Im not a fan of piggy back tuning.

--No info on pricing. Im probably going to have to have one so im looking forward to this.

--I like the overall look of the car. Rear is full-on Camaro, but the full profile of the car looks good. Front end is improved over S550 IMO.
Agree with basically all points here.
More guys need to drive current S550 and consider a new ride as the modern tech/engineering is a great a platform. Just add boost!

If I got into another Mustang which I doubt will happen I think I'd find lowest mileage 14 Shelby GT500. Everything seems to have gone downhill from there, looks wise at least.

man some of yall sound so damn old lolol

in a world where everything is going EV, fords got a 500hp V8, that's available with a manual.

Key Fob revving is indeed lame, simply dont use it

Wifey said the same thing about it looking like a Camaro, i just don't see it.

Dark horse is sick, imo.

Ive got a few Foxbodies, read about the gauges that can be made to look like a Fox dash, I said thats cool. Then I saw a pic of it..... Bummer, doesnt look like any Fox cluster I have..... Oh well.

I do like the overall direction of the car (maybe minus the "tech", but thats unavoidable today)

No Hybrid!! and a manual!!

But I've had over 525hp in a V8 and a maxed out flat torque curve for 12 years - in a better looking package with a forged hand built motor. The only thing that I see as a plus here is that new parts will be available from Ford for 10 years. Wake me up when/if the blown GT500 model arrives - otherwise forget it. Locked ECU.. I'm not adding a blower to this thing.

I can hear it now.. "Custom Tune? Well, you have voided your warranty."

Key fob revving is stupid, I won’t argue that. BUT…

Say you’re a few beers into a car show (or no beers, whatever) and sone kids show up and want to hear it.

Okay, now I can say cool. Fire it up from my seat, give it a small un-obnoxious less than-redline rev for the enthusiastic children, then shut her back down.

It’s definitely a stretch, but meh… I’ll give it a pass.

Do you know if there will be a real street performance model? GT500?
Dark Horse 500 simply not enough to excite me

I'd say the chances are good.

Looks like the PS4 model. Can I get it for PS5?

They should make the cluster 100% user configurable with basic custom overlays.

I'm 34 and I don't have Instagram, Twitter, FB, or any social media. My Fox has the perfect amount of tech in it. I have no radio, no A/C, no heat, but I do have power windows, and power door locks. Also, quite the luxury, I have power steering. The only tech I have is my Holley Terminator X. With all the newer Mustangs it's just assumed they have normal features other cars have today, I wish I had A/C like my other Mustang did, but who cares, it's about what's under the hood.

i have a similar mindset. the only "tech" that's a must-have for me is efi. too many years of dd'ing a carburetor i guess.

a/c and radio is nice to have in a driver tho. which is part of why i love my terminator - it was built before most of the nanny stuff and other tech (and piped-in engine sounds lol), but it still has a few of the creature comforts. i could do without the abs and traction control.

Definitely. I would still have my WRX if I didn't total it in a freak rainstorm where I was going 5mph over the speed limit. It was the perfect DD, great in the winter with winter tires, great in the summers since I modded as far as the stock turbo would allow. Just down to my Fox, I miss having a DD that was also a fun car to drive.

To Clarify: Even with a flashback to stock and taking the blower off won't save you. The ECU will
have a record.

That’s been the case with hellcats since 2015, partner. Welcome to the future.

But if you mod, just fix it yourself. To me it’s a cop out to want to hop up a car, then when it breaks go ‘dealers need to fix this!’

Know what i mean?

It was a missed opportunity to not make the speedo read up to 85mph!!!
