Here's a video of Shmee getting a ride in the AMR Pro:

Laguna Seca is a large track, but the Pro makes it seem like a go-kart track as fast as it goes from corner-to-corner.

Good lord.

Short of a F1 or maybe Proto car this thing is just dirty. Doesn't seem to be spine friendly though from all the videos lol.

@treynor is that you in the background at 0:47?

Also, when are you going to try your hand at the new Ozarks International track?

LS is not a large track, its a track thats like 2.2/2.3 miles. A large track is anything over 3 miles like COTA or especially Road America. Would love to drive RA one day.

Random question @treynor but since you have a lot of exotic supercars, are you ever limited by steep slopes for driveways?
I'm designing a grading plan for a client with similar cars and I don't want to go over a 5% longitudinal change in slope.

Quite hard to find references when it comes to driveway grading for McLaren P1 and other high end cars.

Look into the Smoking Gun YT channel, and the garage he built, and he talks about the angle of the decline into the underground parking so every car can just drive in.

Would love to drive RA one day.

If you have the chance, do it !

RA was one of my bucket list tracks, and last year I went with a group to attend the Northwoods Shelby event there for 3 days of OT.

I say bucket list because it was a 1200 mile ride each way - Massachusetts to Wisconsin.

But it was sooooo worth it.
Take every small to medium track you’ve ever been to and double or triple it. The turns, elevation changes, esses, etc we’re the best of the best tracks all rolled into one.

You mean smokingtire; yes his new garage was built specifically to house specialty cars and has and entire series on the build.

So are they just teasing you in your backyard with this one...?

I finally got a ride around Laguna Seca in the AMR PRO a couple weeks ago. Interestingly, it was not as quick as I had expected it to be -- 1:21s on my laps, with a best of 1:19s for the weekend. I've personally run 1:22s at Laguna in a GT-class car, and a good (but not pole-setting) F1 time around Laguna is 1:06. No doubt the AMR would go somewhat faster driven solo and with more setup, but still...

Interestingly, being the numbers guy I am, I did the math on this. It's actually curvature (the change in slope per unit distance) that you need to be concerned with, because that's what causes parts of the car to touch ground.

For a 458 Challenge EVO (a relatively low racing car), the specs were:
The driveway may increase in slope 6.8 degrees every 3.8m (12.5') -- or, it may reach its maximum slope of 12 degrees in 25 feet assuming even curvature and allowing a small margin for safety.

You might enjoy my own lap of Laguna Seca. This is in my 488, not a prototype (so 500 lbs heavier, half the downforce, and "only" 700HP) but ... I get around OK in it :)

Ben, this helps a lot, thank you very much!

Maybe this will work better??

I feel like you need a Newey designed car for some reason. Lol.

He's a genius at car design and aero, no doubt. That said, my bet is that the next track hypercar I get will have a prancing horse on it. Ferrari's entering the LeMans Hypercar series next year, and a customer version of that car would be epic and would benefit from all the development work they're doing on the series racing version.

I thought farah said the car he rode in did a 1:16 and not set on the most power. He said the driver felt it could do a 1:06 without a passenger and on new tires.

Just relistened to the podcast

He said he ran a 1:18 with him in the car on the middle power setting.

The driver(Andy) claims full power no passenger it'll do 1:13
And 1:09 with full downforce and new tires.

Interesting. I have a feeling you know a little more about said prancing horse than most of the world. Sounds like fun :)

All the more puzzling to me that they didn't show off the car's potential. I'm literally the target demographic for the AMR PRO, I'm there in the car with Andy, and ... 1:21s.

You've got some awesome hardware Ben. Would love to see you at a track some day.

I met your colleague Elif at the lake and was watching her ripping it up on her jet ski. One thing leads to another and I mentioned you and this thread. Small world. She says hi.

Your government is lying to you
