Finally after a long wait, my hatch is back in my shop. Cleaned all the dust off, but I'll definitely want to do a paint correction at some point. It has a lot of fine scratches.

Also replacing the door striker bushings. Got drivers side done and ran out of time. I'll be back there tonight.

That’s on my list to do this year the striker bushings. I need to find a shop to replace the headliner as well. I don’t feel I’m up to the task of doing that.

Those striker bushings were a pain on my 90 coupe. The inner bracket fell off on the inside...

These went smoothly, and looks like the 90 vert will need them replaced as well.

I replaced a headliner many years ago on my old 91 gt. It was pretty easy. I converted red interior to black. The dash was the hardest part.

I’m hoping mine will go smooth. I’ll have to look into it. I know LMR sells a kit maybe it wouldn’t be too bad.

I used the LMR bushings. I don't mark anything when removing. Just put it back on. If the door doesn't close smoothly, just keep adjusting. Took 5 minutes per side.

Added power locks (lock switches/covers from a Capri, if you guys remember LTD's had no PL switches, you had to pull up on one of the knobs to get PL's to work). Started with manual window door panel (and cutout hole for power window switch, which was precut for PW's from factory, luckily)

Can't buy these in chrome repro, so bought new GT covers and had them chromed.
(hard to find anyone to chrome/re-chrome plastic parts)

Then cut holes for PL switch where manual window hole was. Fit in pretty good......

Nice car! I've been looking for these lock bezels in chrome forever for my 86 Saleen, mine are not in the best condition. Best I could find was used at a swap meet.

Well I just had the water pump and thermostat gaskets replaced by a shop next door. They are suppose to be good.....

Both are leaking. They will look it over in the spring when the weather is nicer.

Guess I should have done it myself....

@Bdubbs, hope you got all the bolts tightened up and fixed the leaks. These SBF water pumps are not the best design. As my old saying goes, "If you want anything done right in this world, do it yourself." This is even more true in the car world. Hopefully it's minor and you can get back on the road.

On another note, you said you replaced the battery cables on your reef blue hatch. I have the original cable in my 92 coupe and they are getty pretty ratty. Would brand did you end up getting and how would you rate them. I like sticking with motorcraft parts, they have some new cables but they look to be more of a universal fit for many models.

The thermostat bolts seem tight. I'll have to check the water pump bolts. Otherwise the leaks seemed to disappear once the car was running. I'll get a better idea once I can actually take the car out and drive them.

I believe the battery cables are from LMR and made by Ron Davis?

Either way you can still buy ford motorcraft battery cables! I also bought a brand new set of those stored away. You can find them on eBay, but I bought from AutoNation Ford.

Damn, you bought another one?
Looks almost like a 7up car
Yes sir.....it is a 7 up edition. Has 36k miles, definitely will be changing a few things on it.

The wife wanted a vert. We've never owned a convertible before.

I'm with you Brady. Sometimes it's worth it to pay someone to do the work. Problem is it always seems to come back with problems.

I turned my hood in to be body worked by the so called experts. However, when I got it back there was pin holes in the body work. So, I had to go back over it to get it right.

Like someone mentioned... when you want it done right.... And I know you are meticulous about your cars. Just like most of us here.

BTW, congrats on the new arrival. Wish I had just 1 Fox Body in my stable lol.

Probably.

I need to teach her how to drive a stick. I wish the fastback was a 4 speed. She is "now" willing to learn.

I fear that she'll take the cobra out!
