your current one was only $4,000 less than what I paid for mine. with 3200 miles. And you had to fly lol. But, whats cool is thats a comparison PreCovid / Chip Shortage vs. Current market values

And your on point with having to travel to get the right car. People think they gonna find what they want, 3 city blocks away from their house.

WTB Low Mileage Shelby around 3 blocks from my house
What I dont understand is.. if people would jsut say, "No. Im not willing to pay that price." and they sat on it... Auto Makers would be right back where they were... giving fat deals to move product.... Ill never understand paying ridiculous ADMs or 70,000 for a used 13/14... man thats crazy.

Spot-on! Sadly, there are too many fools eager to be separated from their money.

Do y’all think this bubble or blip in the market will burst when the chip shortage is resolved.

The chip issue is forcasted to extend years
The 13/14 market is gonna hold steady and probably just go up for desirable units.

Ford is rumored to be looking to get in the chip business.
Current GT500 scheduled to end with the 2022 MY, no one knows what will replace it.
13/14 MY cars may just become more desirable, based on what Ford builds next..

I've looked at 13-14 GT500s but just can't bring myself to pay the current prices. I have a mint 15 M6 Challenger Hellcat with 6k miles....found a nice low mileage 13 at a dealer out of state and considered trading. Dealer wanted my car and 10k. I understand they need to make money so I countered but they wouldn't budge. This was for a base model car pretty crazy in my opinion.

Yes me neither. I can’t really afford the 13/14 prices…prices have skyrocketed on used cars overall

My first Shelby was a 2008 I bought Brand New.
MSRP was 45,000
Car had a 10,000ADM
Total Sticker of 55,000
I paid 42,000

My Second was a 2014 Bought Brand New in December 2013.
MSRP of 61,000
I don't remember a Mark up as I really didn't give them a chance.
Paid $3008 under MSRP

My Current Shelby I found for sale is a 2013 with 32000 Miles.
Pvt Sale just last month.
Guy was asking 47500
Paid 45,000

Paying a Dealer Mark up is like paying a "I'm ****ing Stupid" Tax.

The deals are out there. you just have to be willing to do some shit like Fly to Georgia and Drive back to Colorado. *shrug*
45k great deal on a 2013….yes have to be patient
View attachment 17284582013/14 all the way, but any S197 GT500 is great!
nice combo

‘12 glass roof Recaro SVTPP GT500 is a good buy outside of ‘13-14 cars.
I’ve also like the HID equipped ‘08-09 GT500 Super Snake Cars
My 2014 is a keeper in many ways!
I need to stop being lazy and order my Marti reports!

I like the 2011-12 cars. It’s a trinity blower swap away from being awesome. Has WAY better gears than the 13-14 cars too. Way cheaper also. 11-12 is what I would look for unless you find a super deal on a 13-14.

The interiors all look basically the same so you’re not really gaining much besides a outdated sync on a 13-14.

Plus if you can find it, I think 2012 is the only year you could get black with grabber blue stripes.

Cliff notes- 11-12 is the car to get.

Way cheaper yes. Shell out another $5k-$10k for mods if your not a do it yourselfer.
Gears are a $500.00 easy switch and no out of the box suspension kit will come close to the ride quality of a 13/14 Performance Pack.
5.8 vs 5.4 displacement

They are all good cars though. All depends what journey you wanna take

Trans is a different gear ratio, not talking rear gear. 5.4 isn’t as volatile of a motor and has less boost, I haven’t been keeping up with used 2.3 take off prices but I thought it was about 3k after tune. Ride quality is easily fixed with basically the same mods as you would do to a 13-14 car. The electronic susp isn’t really that much of game changer imo and let’s be honest, is a live axel, it doesn’t even ride a good as a 03-04 cobra lol , I don’t feel a 13-14 base car is worth the premium price over say a glass roof performance pack 11-12.

Just stay away from the 2010, don’t have dual wide bands in those, tuners hate them.

That’s just me though

Good points to both, it would come down to condition of each car to me. And I allude to it but the 2 must haves to me were Recaros and glass roof. Once you experience the glass roof you won’t have one without.

Hello everyone I excuse if this is not the right thread to post this. I’m looking to buy my first Shelby Gt500. I’m between 2007-2009 or 2010-2014? I’m brand new to the mustang world and would like if any one can chime in on their experience? Thank you in advance
In the end, they are all great cars/platforms. Each has their specific taste and looks.

IMO - Get exactly what YOU want and do not settle for less because you won't be happy with that route. If you don't go "WOW, I love it and got to have it" then chances are you won't be happy in the end.

If that means spending more money on a 13/14 so be it, just spend more time shopping/saving up for what you want.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Say what you will but the ride in my 14 is light years better than my old stock 04. My 04 had the stock as a rock suspension and it still isn’t comparable. Not saying it was awful, but a noticeable difference.

I'm still fat from turkey and trying not to spend money. Just for convo you have good points. I was bored and kinda thinking through my past stuff and current stuff. The prices!!! holy shit, a VMP H/E 4 years ago was only $600. Up to $800 new now. Anyways... for the OP and anyone coming on board thats new to the 07-12 approach, making your 07-12 better, will cost. Does it justify buying a 13/14? IDK only the buyer can determine that

Using Autotrader....if a person were to buy today

15k mile car 11/12= $40k
Trinity blower w/ shipping $2000.00
Throttle Body= $600
CAI= $350
BAP/Fuel Injectors= $650
Tune= $500
Tuning Device= $250

---------$4350 (subtract 10% for used deals)

After you do that, your probably gonna NEED, not want;

Clutch ($1400), Driveshaft ($900), Cooling ($800) = $3100 (13/14 already equipped)

Not addressed, labor if you pay a shop, suspension, shifters, exhaust tires etc etc etc

I do agree when I came out of my 04 Cobras, all with full FTBR kit, that the solid axle took some getting use to. But as all things cars, with 725rwtq in a Shelby vs 600rwtq in a Terminator, I'll sacrifice a little ride quality for durability
