I got a built torch red Mach as well, will be following this on your journey! Are those drift wheels 19s? They look good on there!

They are 18s, I am not a fan of anything bigger on a SN or NE. And color is going to be Midnight Blue Metallic when it gets to the paint point of the build.

So, I know I have not posted anything recently. I am working around 60 hours a week and weekends I want to spend relaxing with my wife and daughter as I am away for work a lot right now. That being said, I have a small update.

I took Friday off and went to Bowling Green for the NMRA. I didn’t stay long. I took my daughter and she said it was too loud, too hot, and wanted to leave. I don’t want to force her and her hate something she may have liked later in life.

I went back up yesterday and met with a buddy. I stopped in at the UPR Trailer and talked to them about suspension. I have been on the fence between using the MM Koni coilovers I had for my GT Convertible sitting there, Strange coilovers, or Vikings to replace the front QA1 and rear Vikings (rear shocks are dead).

I ended up walking away a little lighter in the wallet but did get a great deal on some Viking Warriors with 175lb spring for the rear; I currently have them with a 150lb spring. I decided that the small price for a 175lb spring was worth it as I could see what suits the car setup best. I ordered, as they are not in stock, the Berserker fronts with 225lb spring.

So thank you UPR for the great deal on a new Viking setup for the car. Once the front comes in I will probably get the car to a shop to get some work completed.

Awww, she looks so cute and relaxed....and cool! So, was that on the way TO the track or when you left? If the latter, she is probably enjoying the relative quietness in the cabin vs. the roar of motors at the track. LOL! You were smart not forcing her to stay and grow to hate tracks due to the noise and heat.

That was to, she did nap a bit on the way from. She is my little helper. She always wants to help with projects around the house. I had pulled the Mach into the back yard one day and was going over it a bit and she was right there. She calls it the racecar since it is loud.

Anyone still ridin’ with Biden or is gas too expensive for y’all?

Got it on this morning to ensure it keeps shape. I will get it more buttoned up later. I will get it shaved.

Plan to keep the cobra lettering or smooth it out when painted?

"Nothing makes me question ALL of my life decisions like SVTP."

Posts and likes are not mine.

Going to fill and smooth it.

I have a few ideas about the paint.

The car is going to get painted Midnight Blue Metallic. I was thinking of getting a Carbon Hood and 03-04 Cobra spoiler. I am rethinking that though. I may paint the spoiler and hood in a Flat/Matte Black with some clear on it so it doesn’t look jacked up when cleaning up. I need something that looks Matte or Flat Black under clear. I want to have the Mach 1 stripes on the side painted on and I’d like to have Mustang painted on the rear bumper when filled.

Good list of short term parts. Is this pretty much what your Midnight Blue Metallic paint will look like?

I’d imagine that is the same as the Ford Midnight Blue Metallic off the 2005 Ford GT.

After seeing how many Mach 1s have been parted out due to accidents and poors buying them and parting them out when something breaks I have decided to not go really crazy to the drag side of things.

Now, this does not mean I am not going for performance. I am just not going to put a cage in the car or go crazy with weight reduction. I think the plan for the car will make for a fun weekend toy. Then once my wife and I move and I have more garage space, I will get a GT and gut it for a drag build.

Good plan IMO. Nothing wrong with a high performance Mach that can be a ton of fun driving on weekends and around town. I think your daughter will approve. LOL.

Why put the Cobra spoiler and rear bumper on there? I know you're shaving it, but still. You're taking away from the Mach 1 design (IMO anyway).

The only body mod I've ever liked on a Mach was a 99/01Cobra front bumper. Gives it a more aggressive look and should have been on there from the factory. The 03/04 Cobra rear on the Mach makes it look bloated to me.

Again, not hating. Just curious as every step of yours seems to be well thought out.

I personally like it. I do have a 99-01 Cobra front bumper for it too. Yes, the plan is to shave the rear bumper and the spoiler will be painted in a matte/flat black. It will probably end up some eggshell type black since I plan on the Matte Clear. I am doing that for the hood too I believe. I had initially wanted to do a Carbon Fiber good and spoiler but I don’t think I will.

One thing I am not certain on is having the panel between the taillights done that way since the spoiler comes down the way it does. I don’t know if it will flow well or whether leaving the area between the taillights body color would be better.

I am also taking the shaker apart to have it powder coated so that it looks better. I need to decide on a secondary color for the valve cover and timing cover. I am going to do the shaker hood in Super Matte Black.

I have a ton of ideas for subtle touches that I hope will work out the way I have it in my head. Two of which are the vin sticker on the door and a Mach 1 plate for the engine bay that I plan to have the paint code changed to reflect the Midnight Blue Metallic.

We will see how it plays out. I hope my vision can come to life and look as good as it does in my head.

Last is the fender emblems. OEM running horse tri bars are no longer made for these. So I have to go aftermarket. I was thinking of ones that the Pony is Black. I was also thinking of having the fender hole filled and then have the Mach 1 lettering done there.

I like the factory fender emblems, and would personally prefer the black pony substitute over the Mach 1 lettering that would be more retro. And, the Mach 1 lettering is normally on the rear trunk lid, too. Are you going with the Mach 1 lettering on the rear trunk lid? I noticed in one photo it's there, but in the other it's the SVT emblem. I assume you'll go with the Mach 1 lettering there. ??

The Cobra trunk lid and spoiler combo will get the Mach 1 lettering on the trunk once painted. I had enough time to throw the trunk lid on and rewire it to plug into the Mach 1 wiring harness. I actually ordered the Mach 1 lettering already and have it.

Another one of my recent orders is supposed to be delivered right before vacation. And then I pick up something for the car while on vacation.
