So after my i.c pump went out I pushed my Dyno session back to get my snake back in check. I have come across a local deal for a pretty nice rebuilt kb 2.4. after doing some research I have mixed reviews on this unicorn. Some say they Dyno low make alot of heat, some claim they scream and made good power. Most are old threads 10+ years ago. I don't care if it screams or not I just want power. I'm running a killer chiller so that could help wit iat's some. It's a good deal price wise but I have no experience with the 2.4. I want to get 600+rwhp on 93oct.
And are there different versions of the 2.4? If so how to tell. Thx

Is it a 2.2 or 2.4? The 2.2 is the screamer that everyone wants. At least from what I've seen.

I had one of the very first run batches of the 2.4. I wasn't the only one who made no power at all with it. sold it and back then I went back to a ported eaton. I spoke to jim bell personally. THE OWNER about it and I even faxed him over my dyno sheet and my data. He couldn't even figure it out. and again, I wasn't the only one. Not sure if the older batches made more power. He was kind enough to offer me a 2.2 instead, but, they were having issues getting rotors back then. so I never got the 2.4 replaced with the 2.2.

The 2.4L was made by autorotor and most people I know made less power than the 2.2L. That is the second run as it does not have the oil snout. Usually the number is on that silver spacer on driver side. As far as power on 93 octane And stock engine was usually in the 560-580rwhp numbers. Can you find a dyno to hit 600rw sure but will need to be a friendly one where the tuner “helps” you some.

Sorry I was cutting the grass and did a fast response. The 2.2L has a longer snout than the 2.4L. That is a 2.4L.
