This past Friday, I took delivery of my 2022 Genesis GV-70, with the Sport Prestige package. It's basically a loaded model with the 3.3L twin turbo V6 (375hp and 391tq) with unique 21" sport alloy wheels, 8-speed automatic, Nappa leather & suede black interior, aluminum interior trim with haptic carbon fiber pattern, suede headliner, 16 speaker Lexicon audio system, electronic limited slip differential, 12.3" all digital instrument cluster with HUD, panoramic roof, premium navigation with 14.5" HD screen, etc. Pretty much every electronic feature you could think of except self-parking or self-driving.

As many of you know, I had owned a 2019 Genesis G-70 3.3L TT Sport. That was the best car I ever owned up to that point. It had 10 fewer ponies than my new GV-70 (same engine). The G-70 was fun to drive, got lots of attention and comments, and was rock solid. My GV-70 is off the same platform but is heavier, of course, with the suspension a bit softer since it's a compact SUV.

I haven't driven it much yet, but I'll start off my saying that with 375hp, this compact SUV is quick. I've only used the Comfort mode setting, so with Sport and Sport+ I'm certain acceleration and handling will be exponentially increased...but will be short of my old G-70's performance. No complaints and lots of smiles.

I absolutely love the design of this GV-70 both with the exterior and the interior. Genesis IMO hit a monster home run with this new model. The size is perfect for people like me who don't want or need 3rd row seating. And yet, the interior is spacious with plenty of rear storage. The power hands-free liftgate with auto/open/close is a nice touch. The rear (and front) lights are a nice departure from the larger taillights and headlights on my other SUVs. The sound system is awesome, and goes especially nice with the dead silent interior. The only thing I wish it had was 3D sound like in some Audi models, with additional speakers high up in the A-pillar and in the vehicle headliner. It's darned close to 3D sound, though, so I'm not complaining.

A feature that is really neat with this GV-70 is a gentle notification on the instrument panel (all digital) that the lead car in front of me has proceeded from a stop but I haven't moved. That helps avoid honking from behind. LOL. Another feature (safety related) is a notification/reminded Rear Occupant Alert that uses ultrasonic sensors to detect occupant motion in the back seat after a vehicle has been locked. It's obviously intended to help prevent people from leaving their vehicle and forgetting that a sleeping child is in the back seat, or a pet. An industry first.

Well, that's about it for now as my GV-70 is at my buddy's detailing shop getting a paint correction (he already removed what looked like acid rain stains), exterior/interior detailing, and exterior ceramic coating. He did this with my old G-70 and it made my Himalayan Gray (metallic) paint really pop. My GV-70 has the exact same paint color. I'll update this thread once I get the vehicle back tomorrow afternoon and get to drive it a bit more. In the meantime, here are a few photos of the exterior. I'll take more later this week.

Looks nice. Have to LOL at the need for a "texting at a red-light sensor" though, oh the world we live in.

Looks like a sweet cruiser. Pics of interior? Out side reminds me of the Porsche CSUV.

Friend got a new Stinger, Koreans are making some nice cars. Just don't get in debt.

I will definitely get some interior photos after I get it back from my buddy.

Yeah, the rear does have a Porsche SUV look to it. One of the things that attracted me to seriously look into the GV-70.

Great looking SUV. I had a G-80 and loved it. Genesis gives a lot of bang for the buck as far as luxury and technology. They are a great brand as far as I’m concerned and the 5.0 in the G-80 with the 8 speed was great.
Look forward to seeing the after shots of this beauty.

These cars they're making now have great fit and finish. Good choice!

But is it just me but do those tailpipes look like big ass torpedo tubes?

I am envious! I will just have to stick to my G70....poor me. Seriously if I were to trade it would be for the GV70 but I can't get to liking the wheels.

Congrats Bob! I can tell you're giddy about your new car as you should! She's a beauty. I love the interior of the car also! I checked them out on a lot a week ago. I wanted my mom to get a GV-70 but she feels BMW is her image and that's what's she's going to go with. Either X1, X2 or X3. Twin Turbo AWD.

Squid Game was off the charts nuts and disturbing. I watched the first season over the weekend after my buddy in Hong Kong recommended it!

Looks nice, Bob. Someone mentioned the KIA Stinger and I saw one the other week and it looked sharp.
The Kia Stinger GT is a great car. Sister to the Genesis G-70.

Beautiful Bob, I like it!

Thank you, Todd. That G-80 must have been fun to drive.

They're definitely not small. Gives it some attitude!

The wheels are different on non-Sport Prestige package GV-70s. My first reaction to them was....not so sure I like them. But then I watched a video where it was explained why there are so many oval shaped trim pieces in the interior, and why the Sport wheels have the diamond pattern. The front and rear trim pieces have diamond patterns, including the front grill. They want to carry/connect the front and rear patterns to the sides, so they designed the wheels with the diamond patterns. After finding out why the wheels were designed that way, I then started to really like them. So far everyone who has seen the car has the same first comment....they really like the wheels. That said, not everybody will like them. That's a given.

Very, very nice Bob! Congrats and enjoy.

Thanks, Tony. I will definitely enjoy it going forward.
