Maybe Covid fried my brain, but I can’t see my purchase price of Shib on Coinbase pro.

Just says limit but and the amount I hold.

Platform limitation or am I not looking in the right spot?

Did you specify a "LIMIT" trade? If that's the case, it may not have executed.

Def executed.

Across from limit buy it shows $0.00. I suspect the app doesn’t show price lower than $.01.

Holding @70 million. Be easier to day trade if I could see purchase/sell price. Guess I’ll have to write it down.

Pretty ironic. Super high speed technological digital money and I’m going to have to use a pen/paper to keep track of how much I paid for it.

Check the settings, make sure the app isn't rounding to zero. IF you can't figure it out - chat with coinbase on it. Trades take time to settle as well, Make sure you are checking your "trade" window. The "balance" may take time.

Coinbase pro is better than regular Coinbase when it comes to fees but the user friendliness is lacking (probably one reason the fees are lower). Coinbase Pro does not give you your purchase price on the app but if you log into their website in a browser you can see that info under 'orders' and then select 'filled'.

Hope that helps.

Another thought on this post. I would 100% suggest that you start keeping a spreadsheet of your transactions/holdings. Me personally, I don't trust anyone but myself to make sure my info is correct when it comes tax time. And going through 12 months of transactions at one time when doing taxes sounds like a major headache. I built a super simple excel spreadsheet to keep track of my transactions and also added in some formulas to keep track of sale transactions and my total holdings value/profits-losses. Didn't take much to build and only takes a couple seconds to update after each transaction. Just something for everyone to consider.

Crypto tax analysis is a nightmare if you're trading often. There are companies that will do it for you for a couple hundred bucks. It should be mandated to have the crypto platforms provide tax data - just like the brokerage houses.

coinbase pro is such a let down, the fees are nice though.

seems they should attach the pro nomenclature to the regular version.

For sure. The pro version leaves a lot to be desired. The lower fees and ability to place limit orders are literally the only reasons I use it. Everything else is better in the original version.

Lol, no. I certainly would have blocked that out too if that were the case. The website can be confusing when you first look at it. First number is the price per coin. Number below that is the total fee for the transaction. The numbers in the next column is the # of coins you ordered/ how many were filled. Idk why they have dollar signs in front of them. It's dumb.

George Soros' fund owns bitcoin, CEO confirms

  • The family office owns "some coins … but not a lot," Dawn Fitzpatrick, CEO and chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management, said in an interview at a Bloomberg event this week.
  • "I'm not sure bitcoin is only viewed as an inflation hedge here," Fitzpatrick said. "I think it's crossed the chasm to mainstream."
  • Fitzpatrick went on to explain how cryptocurrencies now have a market value of more than $2 trillion, with over 200 million users.

Soros Fund Management, the asset management company founded by billionaire investor and philanthropist George Soros, has revealed that it owns the cryptocurrency bitcoin.

The family office owns "some coins … but not a lot," Dawn Fitzpatrick, CEO and chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management, said in an interview at a Bloomberg event this week.
Soros Fund Management, which is renowned for making large profits on traditional currency investments, did not immediately respond to a CNBC request for comment when asked how many bitcoins it owns and when it bought them.
"I'm not sure bitcoin is only viewed as an inflation hedge here," Fitzpatrick said. "I think it's crossed the chasm to mainstream."
Fitzpatrick went on to explain how cryptocurrencies now have a market value of more than $2 trillion, with over 200 million users.
The price of bitcoin, the world's most popular cryptocurrency, has jumped 10% from around $50,000 on Tuesday to over $55,000 on Wednesday. It was trading at $54,726 at roughly 4 a.m. ET on Thursday.
A week ago the price of bitcoin was around $43,000, while at the start of the year one bitcoin could be bought for around $29,000.
The latest bitcoin rally comes despite the continued threat of regulatory crackdowns from governments around the world and concerns about its enormous environmental footprint.
U.S. regulatory fears have eased this week after both Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and SEC Chair Gary Gensler said they have no plans to impose restrictions on cryptocurrency trading.
"This recent rally contrasts the stock market with assets like stocks, bonds and gold having a period of angst over high inflation and slowing economic growth," said Freddie Evans, a sales trader at the U.K.-based digital asset broker GlobalBlock, in a statement Wednesday.
"This recent bitcoin advance could be the repeat of history following the Chinese ban on crypto activities," he added.
Bitcoin isn't the only cryptocurrency surging this year. Elsewhere, ether's price has more than tripled from around $1,000 a coin at the start of the year, to more than $3,000 a coin on Thursday.
Most professional investors think bitcoin is just a bubble, according to a Bank of America Fund Manager Survey that was published in April.
Some 74% of those who responded to the closely watched market gauge said they see the leading cryptocurrency as a bubble. Just 16% said no to the question, indicating the highly speculative ground they see bitcoin on.

Not sure if this is any good or not, but trading platform questions have come up now and again and how much is charged.

Coinbase to Coinbase Pro is easy after all. I was not able to move over my staked Eth and not sure it is even possible. It isn't needed however being staked so no worries. I find Coinbase to be more like an Iphone and Coinbase Pro to be more like Android. It's not as friendly to use, little harder in ways.
Still big on Shiba, if you don't have any...I believe it's still a good investment even where it is.
