My T56 is making a whining noise and I thought it was the throwout bearing but had that changed and its still whining when i let the clutch out. Weird thats its not the TB....
Anyway who can i look at for a T56 Magnum or a good rebuild with upgraded parts.
Maybe sell my trans and driveshaft to offset the difference? Everything shifts fine.
I bought a new sleeve and pilot bearing and my guy who did the TB said they were fine.
Any suggestions where to get a New T56 or A labor day type sale. Or a reubild upgrade?
Thanks for the input.
Stay safe out there.

How long ago did you install the Viper spec trans gears?

Check around for pricing on the T-56 Magnum and T-56 rebuilds. There are lots of shops out there. Shipping the T-56 to a buyer isn't going to be cheap. Ideally if you found a shop within driving distance you could use a truck to get it to the shop, and bring it back home after the re-build. Where are you located?

IMO if you not shooting for big power, a re-built T-56 with upgraded components would be a good way to go. The Magnum does have advantages, of course, but it's the more expensive option.

Lethal Performance has numerous Magnum options.

Tick Performance (I know nothing about them; just found them with Google) offers a Level 2 rebuild for the T-56. They're located in Mount Airy, NC.

Thanks Bob,
Im around the DMV area depending on time of year..
But can get a truck for pick up.
It blew out a reverse/1st if that is even right and had those and others replaced with the viper spec parts so maybe the parts that weren't replaced finally took a crap.
Im looking eventually get to over 800 plus with a built motor.
I can probably get there now but it wouldn't last long.
Maybe stud the heads and squeeze some rod bolts in to help or just do the motor build lol.

That is a possibility, Bunky. I did see that Tick Performance has three T-56 rebuild options.

When I was looking into building my T-56 I think the price got really close to a magnum. That was when I decided if the time comes I'd swap out for the magnum.

Waiting for a call or email back from a couple places.I may move on a Magnum if the price is right. Gotta get a new driveshaft also
I think i could sell my T56 and get some money back especially if someone knows alittle about the T56 and can change what ever bearing is whining since it onky has 55k on it.

I'm looking into beefing up my Trans as well, I've heard good things about Tick Performance also looked into another company Rockland Standard Gear, they have the Tranzilla they claim can handle up to 1200hp/1000Tq, and no Drive shaft resizing needed.

I’d definitely recommend a Magnum over a rebuild if you can afford it.
From what I know RSG makes the Tranzilla by putting upgraded Magnum/TR6060 internals in the slightly smaller T56 case.

I just had a stage 2 build at Tick Performance and literally picked it up a couple weeks ago. I searched all over the forums about swapping to a Magnum, building yada yada. To me keeping my factory transmission was key for me at least so I did the stage 2 build with them. I went there because it was closer to me than other shops. Pricey but closer. I did happen to find by out about Texas Drivetrain Performance, found out they can keep the stock casing and do a hybrid build that lets them put Magnum guts into your casing. As far as price TDP was wayyyy cheaper, the stage two build I paid for could have got me the hybrid build with better internals but I was in a rush and sometimes convenience outweighs price. Also with the TDP hybrid I believe you just change the yolk and your good because it will be a 31 output afterwards someone else may know about this part. Also TDP will give you some $ on your internals and casing depending what route you go.. It’s overwhelming making a choice as the stuff isn’t cheap regardless but good luck man

I agree with you on your choice, I feel the same way about keeping my original casing. From what I've read Tranzilla (RSG) does the same thing, by building up the internals of your stock casing. Pricing seems pretty fair. Also I like the fact that I don't have to mess with any Drive shaft modifications.

when comes time to rebuild my stock t-56, that is the direction i'll be going too. rockland gear tranzilla.

knock wood tho fortunately the upgrades i did from the gitgo on mine such as billet shift keys and the 26 spline input shaft have helped my transmission work very well for a long time (even tho i am at relatively modest power levels).

I've had a change of heart, after some communication with Tick Performance.

I wanted to go with their level 3 Viperized trans (750tq) but they have notified me that they no longer build those. After a long conversation with one of their techs, and for the money and effort that is being put into this, I am going against everything i said and will be purchasing a T56 magnum. Now for the DS dilemma. I am thinking about ordering DSS Carbon fiber shaft.
