Took my F150 in to get new tires, an oil change, and have the drains on the roof checked as I have noticed water a time or two inside the truck coming from the passenger side A Pillar.

Well after spending $3k to replace the track and motor for the roof just 2 yrs and 11 months ago, something has broken again.

They called and said when they went to open the roof the shade didn’t open fully and the roof won’t completely close and they can’t get to it for a few weeks as the roof guy is backed up with other broken roofs.

Had to put gaffers tape on the roof for now and at this point I think I may contact a lawyer. There is a TSB for the mounts which is probably the case this time but it is not something that will be covered even though they know they have a problem.

I am going to contact Ford but fully expect to be told “too bad so sad not our problem”. So I will also contact a lawyer because this is BS and there are plenty of people that have had the same issues and Ford has apparently been sued over this before.

Had a 17 with the pano roof that broke twice under 30k miles. My last 2 Ford trucks I purchased without the pano roof and I don't miss it at all.

Was just out of warranty the first time it happened.

Most Dealerships would find a way to "Goodwill" the repair because it was close to warranty expiration. There are programs that allow the Dealership to do that. A lot of times, the Dealership will deny or not even attempt a Goodwill repair. I personally would escalate the claim to the Regional Rep. And if that does not work, go up the chain of command. Since there was a previous repair for the same concern, you have a strong case for continued coverage.

I am going to make a few calls and see how things play out. It is just BS because the truck just hit 70k miles and the roof is hardly ever used. We don’t beat on the thing. Hell, I have put under 20k on it in the last three years.

You cleaning up on China Flu deaths. Why not buy a real truck?

We add an 80k expense when it is not needed? It has been paid off for three years, it tows what I need it to, it gets maybe 6k miles a year now that I have a company vehicle and gas card.

Not buying another vehicle until we move.

Besides, time to get the Coyote 6R80 swap GT very done and yank the built stroker in the Mach 1 out and build a temporary forged engine for it with a P1X and build a Teksid setup with custom cams, a PSR, and stand alone.

I'd say it affects 1-2 out of every 100 roofs.

I had my tracks replaced on my '19 Platinum at 25k miles. My dad actually got $10k from Ford because he had so many problems with his rattling on his '15 KR. He took the money and bought '21 Ram LH and now has electric gremlins with the Uconnect.

I chalked the '15 up to first year issues. We'll see how it goes with my '19 as it's only been a little over a 1000 miles since they fixed mine.

Would I buy a pano roof again, yes. They have to get it right eventually, right?

( www.f150forum.com ) is full of pano roof issue threads, this has to be costing Ford big time..

I think the track is plastic, not certain about mounts. Seems like a cheap and insufficient material for the weight. I will see if Ford can make it right. Sorry but it is BS that this keeps breaking every three years or so.

Deceptive, did it have a issue before you went to have tires put on it? Or maybe 13COBRA could answer also, putting the trucks on a lift and flexing the frames also tweaking the body a little have any affect? I have a friend with the same issue its been fixed 1 time and it lasted about 2 years from what he was telling me, personally i was trying to stay out of it (helping) i have enough junk of my own to work on but still curious.

The only issue was either the drains being clogged or coming loose. That is why they were looking at it.
