I purchased my 1994 Cobra in March 2004 (I’m only the 2nd owner). I’ve now owned it 17 years.

Don’t recall mileage when purchased or cost, it’s been a while and original paperwork is stored away.

The wife and I bought our Cobras in 2010. I got my 98 in June and we found her 03 in December. We still have both of them.

That's cool. So you bought it new in '99 and still are the only owner.

Proudly, yes. Car is more fun than to drive than the Shelby. It feels nimble and is very responsive.
I never lowered the car and do not feel like I am missing out. I forgot to list, putting IRS bushings on the gear housing. It has been so long, since I did the mods.
I worked the paint, full car by hand, no power tools and won best paint at that car show. Believe me, that was a feat on the 99 Mustang paint jobs. Hands hurt for days afterward.

Bought it in august of 2016 for $900. Sourced all OEM body parts online. This is the last pic I have before bodywork and paint. 34k miles and clean title.

97 Cobra 'vert purchased in Oct 1998 with about 9K miles. Paid about 27K Daily driven until Oct 2015 with 224K miles. Sold for 5K with a spare engine and other parts.

It was my only vehicle while raising 3 kids...LOL

Replaced the top twice, clutch kit once, lots-o-tires, brake pads, and oil changes.

One of the most fun vehicles I've ever owned. I could drive it pretty much to its limits.
I have a 2012 Boss 302 now... gotta be be more careful...she'll bite off you're not paying attention.

Wow, only $900 for an 03? What’s the story?
Saw the shell on craigslist. The guy stripped everything out of it for parts and was just trying to get scrap value. The body had rippling in the roof from kids jumping off the garage on it, lower 1/4 damage from the original owner hitting a curb and extremely faded paint from being parked outside by the ocean in rhode island its entire life. After buying the IRS, bumpers, skirts, hood, trunk lid and wing, not to mention the interior panels, I'm about $3800 into it. I jumped on it because I had a full "cobra" (5.3 bore/stroked aluminum block) swap in my saleen but decided to go coyote platform in that after falling in love with my s550. So I figured why not? If it takes me 30 years to finish I still have a 34k mile cobra built completely by me and the way I want it. Once I actually start the bodywork I'll start a thread on it. Also became good friends with the guy parting it out. If anyone needs 03/04 parts in the northeast I'd be more than happy to connect you with him.

One hell of a deal for sure and thanks for sharing the story!! Do you have a build progression thread on here to follow from when your first got it up to now?

I dont as of yet. After the body is done its probably going to sit in storage for 10 to 15 years so I figured I'll just start a thread once I really get going on it. I have other projects taking up my time right now.
