I have the same. Only carbon helmet I could get within a week, figured the open cockpit design wouldn't hurt anything haha

I think i'd find the eye port too small in a closed cockpit car, do you not find that to be the case?

It was supposed to be a blue mirror finish but its more of a wine redish purple. I wasn't dissapointed
Thanks for the clarification and additional info. I can totally see why you weren't disappointed. Nice find!

hmmm, never thought of it. I'm sure its there so someone doesnt say, start it in their driveway (or worse, garage) then never leaves and the truck just idles until it runs out of fuel

It's actually due to emissions. The OEM gets a greenhouse gas credit for enabling certain features, like idle timers. Hooray EPA.

Burnouts and Chickfila. I need more of that in my life.

Let me know if you have issues with the cheek pad pulling out on yours. My M8 did, but that was right after they moved their production, I really like the helmet but that kind of made me mad I only got a few years out of it.

I took it to our local race shop supplier (wine country) and the owner said he would try to re-glue it for me, and if that didn't work out he would submit a warranty claim with Bell.
