200 MPH, stock? When, where and by whom? ( Ford claimed 202mph)

0-60 in 3.5 sec. with a stock `13-`14? Very difficult to achieve, especially with the stock Goodyear F1 tires. (the GYs just plain suck and you'll put a lot of wear and tear on you're clutch trying)
3.5 with a 2020? Piece of cake.

My `13 stickered out at $68,710. My `20? I payed way-way less than the $20-$40K you claim these cars cost before dealer markups. (granted most did pay an ADM though, not I)

Watts Links, control arms? It'll take a whole lot more than that to keep the taillights of a '20 within sight.

I owned a `13 for 8 years, I know it inside and out and all it's capabilities.
You guys are beating a dead horse here. Stop sulking and just enjoy the S197 for what it is. It's a fun car but it'll never be on par with a 2020 gt500

It’s not about “sheer performance”. History will ultimately decide which model will be more in demand. I 100% believe the 13 / 14 will appreciate and surpass the value of the Latter Shelby’s including the GT350. BTW... my “older” Harley Davidson motorcycle’s do not posses the performance character of any new super bike...but they’re in significantly higher demand & worth much more.

Sure do see alot of the new 2020 owners get butt hurt and insecure over the slightest little things.

Guess I would too if I paid over $100K for a Mustang and its not the fastest Car on the Planet.

And, what does Randy Pobst know, anyway...?

Sadly, arithmetic eludes many folks these days...

Base price on my '13 coupe was $54,200. (Base price on the '13 vert was $59,200.)
Destination & Delivery was $795.
Gas guzzler tax did not apply.
Up to $14,485 in options were available for the coupe. (Up to $9495 in options were available for the vert.)
That means a '13 could be had for between $54,995 and $69,490.

A '21 costs between $76,695 ($74,095 + $2600 Gas Guzzler tax)
Zerp Options.JPG

and $109,085 ($106,485 + $2600 Gas Guzzler tax)
Fully Optioned.JPG

For those who are arithmetically challenged...
- $76,695 - $54,995 = $21,700 more expensive
- $109,085 - $69,490 = $39,595 more expensive

It’s not about “sheer performance”. History will ultimately decide which model will be more in demand. Are you thinking New Corvette Z06?
C8Z isn't out yet and C7Z has been available since 2015, so not sure what you mean by "New Corvette Z06"?

Having a foot in both worlds since 2019, I can say this may have been the case prior to 2020. As of that year, certain new GT500 owners' insecurities eclipsed any Z06 owners may have had. It was, in fact, a 2020 CFTP owner who blamed "dust on the runway" for (someone else's) CFTP losing a half-mile airstrip race to a Corvette. It was clear, even to me (no fan of the 2020), that driver skill cost the GT500 the race. It was/is laughable, however, to blame the loss on dust that, even if it was a factor, would have been equally present on both sides of the runway. If that's not "butt hurt and insecure," I don't know what is.

That 2013 GT500 did 196 MPH with over 100 degrees outside!!No doubt it is still a 200MPH SHELBY!!It laughs at 180 MPH!

They should hold their value or maybe gain some.
The last MY of anything usually adds to it's value.
Last year for the 6 speed.
Last year for the glass roof,............etc..

This ^ but also I think the key to it as well is low mileage (obviously) but factory stored. Or if you’re driving it, I believe those whom retain factory vs modding will retain its value (appreciate) vs modded examples. Not to say anything is wrong modding but there’s going to be less and less example out there as time goes. Hard to keep your hands off these 500s ;)

And for the record I love the new GT500 and is a beautiful car but just noticing not only this site but others the new GT500 owners are touchy and sensitive on the subject it seems.

I've come close to pulling the trigger and selling my 13 but just can't knowing its gonna cost me $90K when all said and done. Thats just not what a Mustang should be about.

There's more to a car than going fast and both the 20s and 13/14s have plenty enough for me.

At the end of the day, very few <50 GB/Black stripe, Glass Roofs made for MY2013. Between that, the looks of the S197 model and Manual transmission is what I keep it for. Just love the 5.8 and what it brings to the road.

I'm old and half sec slower in everything in life which is fine, but make no mistake- still turn heads when pulling into a car show or cruise in!

Does this make any sense? Ten years ago - Ford & Mr. Shelby cared deeply about performance and their performance "image". Ford devoted a lot of engineers, engineering time, and engineering $$ to the 13 / 14 GT500's...after all this very special vehicle was "the face" of the company. Check out how proud Mr. Shelby is during his video discussing the 13 GT500...how he makes certain to mention 200MPH. That all said - It seems since MY 2020 "woke" Ford only cares about promoting EV's. That's the image they want...pandering to people other than us. They have committed most of their engineering $$ to EV's. Maybe that's why they recycled the shifter knob from the now discontinued Fusion (for the new dual clutch automatic trans.). I can't say for sure...but I do not think Ford cares about the latest GT500. EV's are now the face of Ford. Too bad. It seems we're an afterthought. We are no longer the audience they want.

There's always dodge snorting a line of coke off a stripper waiting to take our money when the times right.
on a serious note, it doesn't bother me.

the pendulum always swings and we have/had some pretty amazing pony car wars recently. consider us lucky to have capitalized on it.
all of these cars are going to be well received in time and we are definitely lucky to have a piece of this time in history.

Quite a contrast in less than a decade!

Thanks for the reminder about Carroll's 202MPH reference at the 1:25 mark in this video...

Like Randy Pobst, though, what did he really know about the '13 GT500, on which he was "really proud" to have his name...?

I seem to recall...in the video I saw years ago...Mr. Shelby was in a Red Candy (possible bad memory here) 2013 GT500. And yes he was ecstatic. Essentially the last was / is his very best.

Yes, same here. Our Ingot silver/red stripe GT500 (2013), there are 7 made just like it. I know how you feel. Agree!
