I currently have some chrome 20 inch Shelby Razors on my 12 GT500. It came with the stock wheels also and I may put those back on. Anyone happen to know how they compare weight wise? I guess in my head I see a set of staggered 20 inch wheels with 275 front and 305 on the rear and think they weigh a ton compared to the stock SVTPP wheels.. or is it really a lot closer than I think?

After some digging it looks like my wheels and tires are roughly about 25 lbs heavier collectively for all 4 over the stock SVTPP wheels and tires. I guess it’s not as drastic as I figured..

Anyhow, that info may be useful for someone..

6 lbs each is not a small amount for sprung/rotational weight. That is more than the difference between garbage cast wheels and best in class forged wheels FWIW.

they look good on the car but between the added weight and what I had in mind.. I’ll sell them. They were all the rage back when the S197 was the latest and greatest on the street.. the ones in looking at are about 24lbs a wheel which would be about 7-8lbs lighter each..

What is the width of the staggard Razors in comparison to the oem SVTPP's? Wider rear rims allow for wider tires.........Are you mounting 275/305's on your front/rear SVTPP's, if not, there is no comparison........It would have to be "like wheel widths" to "like tire widths" in size for a true weight comparison and then what is heavier/lighter. Of course a larger tire is going to weigh more........I don't remember 275's coming oem on the front of a SVTPP 2012, aren't they 265's? or 305's on the rear of a SVTPP, aren't they 295 (or maybe they are 305)?.......additional height/width tire add weight (and traction capability) and then the wheels, widths, etc........Aren't the rear Razors 20X10" and the oem SVTPP rears 20X9.5".........<<That alone provides the capability of a wider tire by 1/2".....The fronts? IDK? 19X9.5" SVTPP and the Razor fronts 20X9"?...........

25 lbs of rotating mass is a shit load of weight. Probably closer to removing a 100 lbs of sprung weight. But as a DD commuter who gives a ****!

The fronts are a half inch narrower while the rears are a half inch wider..

The wheels I decided on are roughly about 6-7 lbs lighter each than the stock PP wheels.. which puts them even lighter than the current wheels.

If you decide to sell the Razor's I think I saw a member who is looking for a set in a recent forum discussion.........If I can find that discussion?

They are for sale.. I’m not looking to ship them however.. it’ll be wheels and tires. What it would cost to ship wouldn’t make it worth it.

I found the thread I was thinking of on the other forum and it looks like you and that owner (Bob) who had interest in chrome Razors have already been in discussion in that thread, GLWS.
