Wideband 02 Sensors - Brand?

I have been going through my Procharged Cobra since January when I bought it and finding various things that needed fixing / correcting. The most recent is that the AEM 30-4100 Wideband AFR gauge is missing the 02 sensor and thus shows a static 14.7.

In searching for replacement sensors, I have found various LSU 4.2 on Amazon for about half the price of Bosch. My question is are Bosch the only acceptable sensor to use? I have seen a lot of posts about sticking with NTK for the OEM upstream sensors as Bosch are "crap." So is there good reasons to use an $80 Bosch sensor over a "compatible" LSU 4.2 off-brand at $35? If yes I'll order Bosch, however, I have seen a lot of areas that the cheaper part does just fine.

Feedback appreciated!

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the newer widebands use the LSU sensors. I want to say my current widebands use them. But I think they're the 4.9. Does AEM have one they prefer? Another question I have is....how much is your engine worth?

I have an AEM 30-4100 which utilizes a Bosch LSU 4.2 02 Sensor, the 4.9 is the updated sensor used on newer wideband gauges.

Since I didn't get any responses from anyone that had used one of the cheaper sensors I went ahead and ordered the Bosch sensor from Rock Auto. Sometimes you pay the extra money for the name, and the generic is just as good. Sometimes the name brand is expensive for a reason and you want the better item. I was trying to determine which was true in this instance.

The gauges that run NTK sensors are different can't switch them into a Bosch based gauge. I ended up finding some Innovate Bosch sensors on Amazon for cheap. You can get different cable lengths with theirs.

It doesn't use an NTK sensor, it uses Bosch from AEM... I was referencing the Bosch LSU 4.2 "compatible" sensors found on Amazon. It's moot now as I ordered the Bosch unit, I suppose if the compatible were good you'd see more posts about it.

Yeah I was just confirming your gauge can only use Bosch sensors and that after market gauges aren't switchable. Not interchangable like the upstream/downstream factory style narrow band stuff. I only use NTK for the ECU.

I recently did a turbo kit on a car which came with an AEM wideband. The wideband sensor took a crap after a few months - and AEM wanted 90 bucks for the sensor.

I found an Amazon (Bosch) replacement for about 35 bucks that works just fine. The way I look at it - I can buy three of them for the price that AEM wanted, so no loss...

So far so good.

This is what I wanted to hear. If the one I bought craps out I’ll try the cheaper Amazon alternative.
