The new F150 Lightning will be as much a ‘Lightning’ as the Mach E is a ‘Mustang’.....

As both a Lightning and Mustang owner I’m dumbfounded.

The Mach E is more like the infamous Aztek.

I’m in the RC industry and the same thing happened to us. Although there is still Nitro cars most everything has gone electric. Including planes and boats.
Is it just me or is nitro making a bit of a popularity come back? I know the electrics are superior in every measurable way but I've been seeing more nitros pop up lately.

It’s pretty steady, mostly 1/8 scale buggy and Trucks. The last Nitro Challenge had like 700 entries.

Meanwhile at FCA...
Want a big muscle car? How about we call it the Challenger? Is it true to form? You tell me. We literally just copied the 70s one and rounded off some edges. And it still has a big V8. Not only that, but we put a ****ing supercharger on it. Now it makes more than twice the power it used to. Not enough for you? How about a Charger? Same powerplant. Doesn't look like the old one, and we added an extra set of doors. Why? Because **** you. Now you can run 10's taking your family to church. Or a bunch of whores. We're FCA, we don't give a shit. See you in hell! That's why we call it the Hellcat. Got a problem with it? Go buy some pansy ass car you plug into a wall, but you'll have to unplug your vibrator first.

And they absolutely demolish a nitro car in every single aspect. Hate to say it but nitro is flat shit compared to a proper brushless setup. You dont see nitro cars going 100+mph without MAJOR work done to them.

Now you can buy a 100mph brushless car in a box(i hate RTR with a passion) which is mind blowing.

Im all for the new Lightning. I think a RCSB, aluminum bodied, dual motor truck would be quite sick. Think 4300lbs and 550+hp with a 350mile range.

And this thing is going to wallop a Gen 2 Lightning. Hate to say it but the old Lightning isnt fast these days. A stock Explorer ST is on par with what i ran in my 2002 Lightning at the drag strip. Add in the crazy torque of a dual motor EV and its game over for the old brute.

Couldn’t have said it better. I believe this upcoming truck will be gapping from light to light. I will be taking a hard look at trading in my ‘18 f150 for a new lightning.

LOL...................................... What are you going to tow the batteries to get to that weight. Add 2,000-3,000 lbs to that number.

Even if it’s 1000lbs more it’s nearly in line with the older one. My 02 Lightning with me and a full tank was 5300lbs.

Current F150 is 4021lbs in lightest form. So 1000lbs worth of battery packs and motors? 1500lbs worth?

Mach-E in heaviest form is 4850lbs for reference and 4340lbs in lightest form.

A quote from the movie Tommy Boy comes to mind.
Never seen it. So not sure what this reply is supposed to be lol.

So are you 100% sure you saw the real new Bronco? (they haven't been delivered yet) or the little sport version? I'm hard pressed to believe someone doesn't like the looks of the real one.

What's crazy is after Ford RUINED, JUST RUINED the Mustang name with the Mustang II and 1979 POS Fox Body, it was never able to recover. Just think of what the Mustang could have been had it not been absolutely RUINED.

No it was a sport, I was very excited about the new Bronco mainly because apparently it can be flat towed and I’m a year away from retirement. It would have been the perfect vehicle for towing behind the motor home. But they took to long so I got a Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk instead.
