Like the title says. I don't make a habit of posting on here about my trials and tribulations daily but I got to tell you guys based on my yesterdays activities I'm still exhausted this AM.

I'm getting the cars and trailer ready to attend Ford Takeover in Jackson TN. on the 7th through 8th. Yesterday I had to move the Mustangs around and start loading and cinching them down in the trailer. I got the Cobra loaded and the the remote for the winch quit functioning properly so I had to switch to the hand held device all the time why the temps were in the mid to upper 80's and I was sweating profusely but wouldn't give up or take a break. Well anyway, once I finished I was so thirsty that I couldn't stop drinking fluids, and I still feel that way today and I've got more work to do, the 86 has to be cinched down then the trailer needs to be washed etc.

For those of you that are young getting to my age is hopefully coming and you're in for some interesting times indeed. On a more personal note I'll be 75 on the 17th of this month and I can't imagine what it's going to be like if I make it to 80.

There on things I could do even 5 years ago now they have to be done in stages. I'm in good health for my age but damn time does take it's toll on the human body. So guys take care of yourself as you get older but learn to temper your enthusiasm.

I know EXACTLY of what you speak "big dad".......I turned 74 in March and seems like after 70 I have to get really psyched up to do things that were commonplace years ago.......we just gotta "KEEP ON KEEPING ON"....GOOD LUCK and STAY UPRIGHT!!;)

Thanks for the replies fellas, I have thought about getting a sign on the back of one of my vehicles that says "I might be slow, but I'm still ahead of you".

Wow I did not realize some of you were old farts!! ;) Then again some of us have been on SVTP for 17 years or more. I joined back in 2004. I'm still relatively young though at 49.

You guys are lucky to make it this far. Some others are not so fortunate. A coworker of my wife's husband recently died at age 51 of a heart attack on V-day in his living room while she was working in the basement. He had gone shopping with his daughters and bought a Valentine's day gift for his wife. They all tried to revive him in the house but could do nothing. His mouth was completely locked up and he was already gray when she came upstairs. She heard a sneezing sound and he did not respond which is why she eventually went upstairs.

Dad was 45 years older than me, and he was 89 when he passed. I remember him complaining about aches and pains and I thought to myself it can't be that bad. I feel so guilty for thinking that now. I'm 66 and if it keeps getting worse like it has for the last 15-20 years, I don't know if I'm tough enough to make it to 89. It makes me realize just how tough he was. He was born in 1910, that whole generation was tough as hell.

I about died overhauling the front axle on my Excursion in my driveway last year. Granted it was still over 100 on the ass end of the AZ summer. Even still, it took a lot out of me and what would have been finished in one day took two.

Were I 27 and not 37 It would have been done far sooner. Being a former dealer tech who had the extreme luxury of a lift most of my years prior, I have developed an extreme respect for guys that build race cars and fix cars in their garages and driveways.

There’s shit I can’t do at 36 that I handled just fine 10 years ago.

As long as I can use a toilet on my own, and climb on my wife at 70, sign me up.

If your wife is approx. your age at seventy in all likely hood that shop closed its doors for retirement 5-7 years earlier, and then you'll start shitting in your pants because your spincter muscles can't hold it in like when you were much younger. Good times ahead for you youngsters indeed.

I turned wrenches for 40 years and suddenly decided to retire on one days notice, I literally got burned out from fixing everybody elses problem and management not helping fix mine. Dealers are pimps and your're the whore working for them. I'm sure you know what I mean. They burn you out then throw you out.

You’ve given me no reason to live past 65.

As a bonus, as much as I nearly shit myself now (and occasionally do), my 70s should be hilarious.

Sounds like you should start buying stock in FTL immediately if not sooner!

Good dose of perspective in here. I'll be a meager 36 in two months. Creeping up on 40 and already wondering where the time has gone. Then I look at my grandma who'll be 98 next month. The woman just flew down to FL with me for a wedding and boy did she have a blast. Seeing people she hasn't in decades, chatting all day, laughing with everyone... I think she smiled the whole time. I'm convinced she could still beat my ass.

Always respect your elders; you don't know what they've seen or what they've been through. Odds are most of us are pansies compared to them.

100%. The last, GREAT generation of men. I fear for where we are going as a Country and as a Human Race and what our kids will have to live through.
