Another ghost story from Outlaw99. Only this one didnt happen to me. It is HAPPENING to a client of mine. We havent had any activity in our house in about 2 years. Been very quiet.
On to the story:
I have a buyer client who was moving from south Florida to the mountains here. Her requirements were a bit strange, but no un reasonable. She wanted something off the grid, back up in the mountains and no neighbors. So, after a few weeks of searching, we found something she really liked. The driveway was 1.5 mile long gravel/dirt. Way back in the woods. When I showed this house to her, she loved it right away. It was aged, vacant and no one had lived there for a number of years. It had 80's style carpet and wall paper. My client is what you would consider "goth." Not an extreme goth look, kind of like Abby from NCIS. She was very sweet and nice.
What I didnt share with her was the heavy feeling I felt soon as we walked in. The air was super thick and it felt depressing, almost to a darkness type of feeling. My wife was with me training, and she felt it too, and like me, did not want to say anything at the time. But after the showing, we discussed it on the way home.
I had to make several more trips out to this house over the next month to meet inspectors and every time I would go inside, this heavy darkness would just cover you. If you have never felt it, its very hard to explain. My home inspector felt it too. The most heavy part was in the basement. The feeling was heaviest down there. There were several room where you could tell the previous owner had a hobby shop and probably spent a lot of time in this room.
Fast forward, we close on the home and the buyers move in. About 10 days later, I get a text from my client. She asked if I knew anything about the house's history or more specifically, If I knew if anyone ever named Chuck had lived there. Not to my knowledge as most of those facts are only known by the listing agent. I asked why? This is where it gets very interesting. She said her and her husband have been experience very weird activity, noises, sounds, voices and one in particular named Chuck speaks to them directly on a spirit box device that she has. Chuck tells them he likes them and that he is very glad they are there. Chuck also says there are other, not so nice spirits there too. Chuck also told them that he lived there once, it was his house and that he killed himself in the kitchen.
I have heard a lot of haunted house stories from clients, but not like this. The next day, I was super curious and called the listing agent. I asked him if he was aware of anyone named Chuck that had ever lived in the house. He was not aware of anyone and told me his clients names, neither one was Chuck. I gave him a quick version of why I was asking him.
About another 10 days or so goes by and the listing agent calls me. I had pretty much forgot about all of this until his call. He said, you are not going to believe what I am about to tell you. He talked with his sellers and in that conversation, asked them about someone named Chuck. He said his sellers turned white and were asking him why and how did he know about Chuck? His clients told him, that their father, Charles built the house and lived there alone. He went by Chuck, not Charles. They also told him, yes he killed himself in the kitchen. They inherited the house and decided to sell it after he died.
The hair on my arms was standing up at this point. The listing agent didn't know what to say to me. He was really freaked out and couldn't believe the coincidence.
I called my clients and relay the information that there was in fact a person named Chuck that once lived there and he did kill himself in the kitchen.
She tells me they feel him there and are happy to share his house with him. He talks often and lets them know when he is around. They also say, the other spirits are not happy they are there and let them know.
I have been told many strange stories over the years about clients and homes, but nothing with the validation like this one.
What do you think? Do you believe?
