Nice!!! I’m building an 01 cobra and I saw a 00 cobra r engine on eBay a few weeks back. I almost pulled the trigger on it but instead I’m hopefully gonna build my aluminum block in the winter. I started a build thread in my 01 and no one seemed interested in sharing their experience on. Uh oh well. I kinda feel the same about building and not letting a good thing go to waste. Why not drive it race it street it enjoy the dam thing. Life is short I doubt when I go to the grave I’m gonna be like man I’m glad I only put 1000 miles on that cobra I invested 50000 dollars in. LOL!!

That is my motor, it’ll be on Bring A Trailer soon. I wasn’t happy with the bidding on eBay. Keep it up with the 2001. I like all New Edge Cobras.

Shame to see a real Cobra R getting cut up to this extent. There is nothing Cobra R left at which point a V6 shell would have been a better idea.

I wish I had OP's money lol.
I don’t understand why people get so bent out of shape, you could say the same thing for Teksid SRA turbo Terminators. It’s just another car built to the liking of the owner. It’s that easy.

Simple, 1 of 300 vs 1 of tens of thousands.
Also, won't be long before people are on about modded terminators too.

I don’t get the mentality to preserve cars either. Pretty dumb not to drive them. Even worse to pretend to enjoy a stock car. Just like mine, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

x10000000000.

Lots of New Balance wearing, Michael Knight look-alikes worried about saving the pussy for the next guy.

Build and drive that shit like you stole it!

**** me for spending my money how I’d like and having fun right ‍♂️ I guess some guys truly just enjoy looking at a stock car. Not me I wanna lie in my death bed some day and remember the good times. I doubt preservation guys look back and are like “hell yea I saved the hell out of that car”.

Yep, I really wouldn't care if someone bought the 1966 lemans winning GT40 and turned it into a drag car with an electric motor. You do you. Personally I just find it an odd use of money but thats just my personal opinion and my personal opinion is not worth the dirt you stand on.

But... Just expect the critism and ignore it. Car is still badass

Sure enough.

Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust

I mean I DID say I'm jealous of OP's money...buy a real Cobra R at those prices only to take most of the Cobra R out of it LOL.

I'll linger to see progress. I'll stop hurting people's feelings with my opinions lol. Turning out to a be some good fab and building going on.

So when a friend of mine told me about this thread I can honestly say I was shocked with how someone was cutting up an original '00 R.

Now that I have read the thread I can honestly say this is a BADDASS build! More power to you sir for building your dream car.

Jesus.

You didn't have to go that far to prove the point.
