Sucks when that happens. At least when the underside is properly painted to match the exterior you can eliminate the pad if you want. And, IMO it makes the engine compartment look nicer without the pad.
Yes, I was disappointed to see it was only 1/2 painted. I am bringing my car in to a body shop Wed morning to have the front plate holes filled and the bumper repainted. I may ask them how much extra it will be to give the under hood a quick spray with the SM when they're doing the bumper. I don't think it would need a CC, just want it to match underneath?

Clearcoat is best, of course, but not really needed. I'm sure they could get it done to your liking. They would just need to remove the hood to paint the underside. Shouldn't be expensive.

want to say I got mine from Hanlon Motorsports. Had to cal a few places. Including Tremec

Once the trans is lowered a bit you everything from the top.

Just an update, Finally got my seal installed. I ordered one from American Powertrain, tried to install it and it would just pop out. Reached out for tech advice, they told me to bend the seal to stay in place. Well that didn't work. I ordered one from Hanlon and it pressed right in nice and tight. Should have tried them the first time and saved myself $20 and an additional week of down time. Thanks for the suggestion of using Hanlon. Been a life saver, wasn't sure how I was going to fixed the other seal from AP.

Hey man, I was recommended to go to Maaco off of Main St. I put a call in to Automotive Supersports, who did a great job on a different mustang I had work done on, but they wouldn't fill the holes. They recommended a whole new bumper. I'm dropping it off in about 90 minutes, so hoping for great results.

Yeah that's pretty common. Mine is pretty much all painted. But they also painted right over some stickers that's on the underside of the hood.

There are stickers on mine, but they aren't painted over. Hah, pretty funny.

Oh man...good luck with that. I would recommend Bucholz....can't speak for Maaco besides their poor reputation in the industry. Let me know how it goes!

dang, will do. I'm hoping the one here is better than others.
I never thought to ask on here for recommendations. I wish I would have.

I pulled the trigger on a Whipple Gen5 from Lethal Performance for my ‘03 Cobra.

Hopefully the wait isn’t to bad, not that I’m ready for it yet. I’ll just feel better when it’s in my hands with all the EPA stuff going on!

Ken

I've been considering doing the same thing. Snag some longtubes and a gen 5 just to sit on for now.
