I see some people have a very difficult time here with certain things. This was not started to pit the 13-14 GT500 against the new one.Going by the numbers any FOOL with half a brain knows that the new model out performs the old one.The DCT by itself is a monster. Then the magnaride is on another level. The 13-14 GT500 clain to fame was the power at the time, the top speed and the PRICE.

Many here are well versed on the Texas Mile, etc. Van has been breaking records there for years now.

I was gonna say, a full 16 seconds slower in a single lap at VIR (egads, that's awful).

Lightning Lap Results 2006 to 2021: Every Car, Every Lap Time

Not practical at all given nobody here in the US was able to do it with a stock '13/'14 and that Ford could only get it done at the Nardo ring in Southern Italy.

sooo you're saying the fact that he'd get lapped every 10-12 laps is a bad thing then?

And I don't think they ever listed the lap time.

Is there even one person at the Texas mile who GAF about a stock car? Seems to be big old turbos and meth to me. In which case, the top speed of the GT500 is irrelevant.

He's clinging to the only thing the 13/14's have over the 20's performance wise
.
13 / 14's are bench mark cars, stats the 20+ can't match...( well it did match 0 to 60 in 3.5 sec. )
200 top end & 24 mpg means no gas guzzler tax. ( 20's = $ 2600.00 )

I feel like the only Ford people putting down the new GT500, are the 13-14 owners. I see it in thread after thread.
There's nothing negative to say about the 20+ GT500s. I'm sure a couple 13/14 owners are a little salty for whatever reasons. Personally I still prefer the 13/14s, for a number of reasons. But I also haven't driven a 2020 GT500.

The 13/14's can't match the all around performance capabilities of the 20's. I had 2 13/14 gt500's, they can't touch the new ones

It's insecurity because the 13/14 is no longer the top dog 500

Yeah but I mean, I don't remember the 93-01 Cobra owners getting all butthurt when the 03s were released. Nor do I remember the 03/04 owners getting butthurt over the Shelby when it was announced.
