So the midwest and the cold is not where I want to be. I'm looking at 3 locations with positive/negatives:

-Los Angeles My sister lives here so we could probably go half and half in the EXPENSIVE housing market

-Tampa/Sarasota My cousin, his wife and their newborns live here. Would have to make new friends.

-Virginia Beach Grew up here and have a lot of friends. Cold winters and no family.

+1 Especially the LA area, San Bernardino County is supremely Conservative. So if you have to pick CA I’d look for a place around Redlands or Rancho Cucamonga area’s.

What's your opinion of the housing market? I don't know how or where normal salaried people buy or afford the houses.

Not a good time to buy in Ca unless you are planning to stay along time. Its the top of the market right now and prices are going 50-100k over asking.

CA is a shithole and getting worse. Plus if you have to life in a shitty area just for a decent quality of life and home ownership, you can get that same quality elsewhere for half the cost. Once you get away from the coastline, the weather benefits dont become that great comparable to other places. Like San Bernardino/Riverside, your climate is going to be similar to the Central Valley or anywhere, TX.

I would say FL of all those. Plus right now FL's governor is just ****ing killing it and FL is looking like one of the last bastions of actual freedom.

I work in accounting, which allows flexibility. Lots of openings at all 3 places.
Come to Texas. It’s like Florida but trade beaches for rivers and lakes. We get storms but the hell with Florida and their hurricanes.

Going to agree with staying away from Cali. That state needs to be boycotted

If you’re not a fan of the cold, like myself VB is probably not a good idea either.

I’ll put my vote in for Tampa and I’ll also add in Arizona. I’ve heard good things recently.
