Stellantis Has "Disbanded" The Street & Racing Technology (SRT) Division: - MoparInsiders

Not sure how this will impact the old SRT's #hellcattheworld mantra. I think that combining with Peugeot and their EV tech gives Stellantis the ammo needed to keep Hellcat around for a long time. A bunch of Peugeot EVs to offset what will now be an "SRT" brand sounds fine to this performance enthusiast.

Ill probably never buy one, but Im damn happy they exist. :D

you mean like the s550 that weighs 4xxx but with almost 300 less hp? Lol
You pick out the S550 but ignore the Camaro's Alpha platform. You pick the Hellcat to compare to the GT instead of GT500. Ok, whatever. You act like I insulted your religion, lol. Have a happy day buddy, I have to go to work.

The alpha platform sucks, they couldn't give it away.

Does it? I mean it's a chevy so the interior is shit. But the platform? I don't know the facts but could look them up, but I'm pretty sure the ZL1 is as fast as the GT500 and about $20k less. And what are the curb weights? Don't be mad at me because Ford put a half assed effort into the S550 or the FCA uses a 30 year old chassis. Btw the love the Challenger, it is dead sexy but it's a bloated pig.

The sight lines out of the car are awful. Ford doesn't advertise and still killed Chevy and Dodge advertises like crazy and kept the Challenger relevant with excitement. It doesn't hurt that the sight lines and look of the Challenger were good from the start.

The view out of the Camaros were horrendous. Felt like I was sitting in a pillbox.

Give credit to SRT where it's due. They took a huge car and make it relavent for a decade, *Edit* a decade after major elements of the Chassis were relavent with MB.

If they could ever engineer a smaller car and they stick that Hellcat in it Ford would be in trouble.

Why would I compare the camaro when we’re on a mustang site and the topic is about Chrysler?
If you want to compare the hellcat to the gt500 fine. Show me a gt500 you can pick up for 40k.

MB did not design the LX Chassis.

100%

Everyone is all salty because FCA's LX platform butt ****ed Chevy AND Ford combined in terms of outright sales.

Muscle Car Sales 2019: Camaro & Challenger Down, Charger Up.

Mopars mantra has and probably always will be: Large, heavy boats that are comfy as hell with excessive horsepower. Respect to them for being unapologetic about who they are.

Ford and Chevy are trying to be full-gay by 2022 with 0 ICE vehicles, while FCA was actively working to see how they can put 700+ hp into everything they sell LMAO!

You do realize the Alpha platform is used across several models? Sight lines have nothing to do with the platform.

It is used on the Camaro, ATS, CTS, CT4 and CT5.

Yes, and you are utterly wrong.

Great rebuttal. I’ll indulge due to boredom. The ATS coupe shares the platform and doesn’t have the same visibility issues. The Camaro has a longer wheelbase, is wider and longer. So explain how the Alpha platform is the issue.

The piss poor designers on the Camaro team are the issue for its visibility issues. Not the platform which is heralded for its performance across the board.
