Update? I'm in the same boat. Looking for a car for quite a while now.

The deal is still on. I'm going with my friend in his truck this Saturday. We're going to pick up the trailer, that I already called ahead and reserved a couple days ago, which is only 10 miles from the guy's house and then we're going to pick up the car and hopefully be home by 4-6PM. I've already insured the car through Hagerty. Once I get the car home and in my garage i'm going to make an appointment/send the registration and bill of sale(which has to be notarized) to the MVA for street rod tags and once I get the tags i'll be ready to take the car out. I forgot to reset coverage from a previous quote, so coverage starts 1/29, no big deal though, i'm not in any hurry. I will post some pictures when I get the car.

A notarized bill of sale isn't necessary, matter of fact, i'd be paying taxes on book value of that 86' stang…

Yes. It's dark gray.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm putting down NADA book value for the car, the same value I put down when I insured the car.

Gotcha, you said you had to have a notarized bill of sale to get tags, which you don't (unless things have changed for covid reasons) for a car that age. Just making sure you knew that. What is book value of the car? Just curious.

Here you go guys. I'll get more once I get rested. It was a long day. I was up at 4AM, drove up to NY with my buddy for 4 hours, plus pit stops, than 4 hours back, and then stopped at my buddy's house to look at his car. He was nice enough to give me a set of of fully assembled TrickFlow heads. The threads on a few areas need to be re-tapped, and i'll take them to a shop to make sure everything is in working order, but I can't beat the price. The previous owner gave them to him with a set of TF heads that were also on the car. So I may ask if anyone can help me identify them, because I haven't found out what they are yet, but I know the engraving does say TFS-SBF with a number I can't decipher.

Anyways, here's the 86 GT I got today.

Looks nice what kinda price did you get it for?

$8200

He was asking more because some kind of sound system with whatever big box of subwoofers and amps. I don't know anything about that stuff to be honest. I had a price, he countered at a higher price and was willing to go lower without the sound system equipment which he would take $400 off the asking price. I countered and he we finally met at a price where he said he would still include the sound system. Although I have no use and plan to sell the sound system except for just the basic few speakers and head unit which has BT, I figured I could sell most of the sound system for.

I love that you can see the ground in that engine bay shot.
Congrats

Thanks! No A/C, no smog pump, and twin mini electric fans that are connected to a shroud that is barely noticeable apart from the radiator really clear up a lot of room.

Congrats... that's a REALLY good looking fox. Hope you enjoy it

Thanks! I will for sure. I'm just going to get it cleaned up first, there are a few spots in the interior that could use some shampoo, but nothing major. After that i'm just going to make sure it's road-worthy before I start thinking about what to mod. I'm in no rush as it's sitting in the garage, so i'm going to take my time with it.

Looks great! Love the 4 eyes.
For some reason the chrome ponies look out of place on there.

Thanks, I have a lot of mods planned for it in the future. Just want to get it cleaned up and fix some usual OEM trim pieces, minor issues in the interior, etc.

I was looking at that car for a while. I really like the Grey. I asked the guy some really basic questions and was only getting vague answers and after like 2 questions he never returned. I'm glad to see it went to a good home.
