Company hasn't made anything, market cap over 30 billion, wow!

Plug Power +13% on hydrogen venture with Renault

Jan. 12, 2021 8:25 AM ETPlug Power Inc. (PLUG)By: Carl Surran, SA News Editor
  • Plug Power (NASDAQ:PLUG) and French automaker Renault (OTCPK:RNLSY) announce plans to launch a 50-50 joint venture based in France for the research and development, manufacturing and sale of fuel cell-powered vehicles and hydrogen turn-key solutions in the coming years.
  • The companies say the JV platform will serve the fast-growing market of fuel cell light commercial vehicles, taxis and commercial people transportation.
  • Separately, Truist initiates PLUG shares with a Buy rating and $60 price target, expecting the company will convert hype around hydrogen power into concrete orders and profitability over the next three years.
  • Plug is fresh off last week's big announcement of a $1.5B investment commitment from South Korea's SK Group.

That sounds super promising. And being around $2 not really much risk. What sort of quantities are you thinking? I'm thinking 50 or 100. Could pay off huge.

I just bought 1000 shares. I should have held my 25k shares I bought when everything tanked. I sold almost all of it when I quickly made 40%. The shares I kept are up 495%.

How does the capital gains work for a Canadian based company?

Nibbling on ZM and SNOW and MSFT today. The work from home trend is being overlooked for now. I think there is much more growth potential until 5 to 10 years out when life still hasn't returned to normal.

would it matter? you just pay the gain (profit) you make, depending long term vs short term? If you profit 1000 and cash out you pay the short term or long term against that i would think.

I don't see it anywhere on RH. Do I need to look elsewhere?

I was wondering if you pay Canada tax on gains and have to go through hoops to get credit for USA IRS.

OK, gains on sale of stock no, but dividends yes it looks like.

Capital gains on publicly-traded securities sold by a Canadian non-resident are not taxable in Canada.

In the U.S., your quarterly dividend income is taxable on your U.S. tax return. Your Canadian tax already paid is eligible as a foreign tax credit on filing to help avoid double taxation.

Talk to your benefits person if you have one. I'm pretty sure it has to be an option within your plan. One company I worked for has it, the other didn't- even though they both used Fidelity and were about the same size in the same industry.

Im riding IZEA like a bronco. Stock is going to blow up in my opinion. They have influencers flocking to them, to market to companies as a middle man, plus a ton of data and market info for big companies. They have rebooked disney, signed t-mobile, running whiskey ads for Makers Mark, and a ton of others. Ive got 16k shares in this baby, and I think its just going to go astronomical! Take a peak if you have extra cash laying around!
Thanks for the tip on this one it seems to be panning out quite nicely!
