MM used to have a shit ton of New Edge and even 4V info. Lots of guys building, researching and sharing about that. Before that they even had a sizeable 5.0 Windsor and 3.8 communities. They even had a few 2.3 guys.

Corral has turned into a disaster. It's still active, but I've never gone anywhere and gotten such bad and outright wrong information- actively hostile too. It's bordering on FB or other social media for bad info and hostility.

Funny seeing that AG has run even YellowBullet into the ground.

It's crazy seeing how much it changed almost overnight. It went from frequent posting and information from pretty knowledgeable members to a handful of people with <5 posts asking simple questions and spam bots reigning unchecked.

They must be making good money just on the little traffic they get from old posts because activity on all these forums they bought/changed plummeted as soon as they touched it.

Same with IG. Just a platform for people to flex their stimulus builds. I can only see so many builds of people showing off their bright and shiny new parts from [Insert vendor here].

Who needs that when you can put together a 10 minute video about your life riddled with ads? Then spam it to every other social media in hopes of gaining some semblance of traction and a couple pennies from youtube. I don't think any of them have any reasonable technical knowledge, nor are the technical types profitable. Only the more entertainment oriented stuff is popular/profitable it seems. I can't stand it, personally. They're all the same. It's like sifting through a landfill for a single fleck of gold.

They all follow the same format. "Hey it's your boy XxCoyotePuneSlayerxX420! Remember to SMASH that like button and hit the bell or something, subscribe so you can see the latest. SOOOOOOOOO...meandmygirlfriendwe…[5 minutes of completely useless drivel that's irrelevant]...2 ads...OBNOXIOUS DUBSTEP INTRO for 2 minutes. Ok so...we're about to get down to this. We just got this ALL NEW THROTTLE BODY SPACER from AMERICAN MUSCLE, they're like...the best vendor ever...if you use promo code...[more paid placement] So let's put it on now, ok?...2 ads... Now we're at Harbor Freight...seriously the best place to go for tools...and we got a new ratchet...ok we're going back to HF because we broke the ratchet...fast forward to actually installing it, using gaskets from Rock Auto! Another paid placement...2 ads...and there we're done! Let's rev the piss out of the car on a COLD START BROOOO! It sounds so good! I can feel that on my trip to McDonalds it DEFINITELY picked up 20hp with this spacer...
...teaser for the next episode, HF jackstands collapse and CRUSH MY BEST FRIEND? REACTION FACE EMOJI PASTA."
I know it's going off-topic, but your description of the typical car YouTube channel is dead on. If you'd like to see a channel (sadly, not cars) that's the exact opposite of what you've described, search YT for "WILDERNESS COOKING". Each 12 or so minute episode has maybe 10 words and no music. 300,000 followers though, so he's proving that fancy production isn't everything.

The poor 3V had bad timing with the crash and Ford never made a Cobra version. I wonder if they ever had any plans for one?
Probably not. They knew they were bringing back the GT500 I think right after Coletti left/retired. They wanted a cheaper version of the Ford GT engine for the next halo Mustang. More displacement and better heads while keeping the supercharger were the order. 3V didnt have a prayer. Though, some say the 3V with lopey cams has some of the best modular exhaust tones.

OMG hahaha perfect. Ya there has been a huge rise lately (it seems to me) of new member on her just to post their youtube videos. And normally they are annoying.

The GT500 was originally just the next Cobra, and the S-197 Bullitt nearly got a 4V.

Who here was part of, or remembers, the turbo mustangs forum? That was some good stuff....and then it became the turbo forums and I lost interest--but man, lot's of good times there.

Yes. I was there a few years before here. 04/05 maybe. I remember Turbo5.0mike well. We had a Nee England get together as a friends dyno. It was a great forum. Tons of knowledge and great tech.

As a longtime Corral member/moderator, I'm convinced the Lounge died because people kept telling themselves and each other that it was going to, when the site owner/founder sold the site to VerticalScope. And then BookFace took off in earnest.
I've been a member on corral for many years. My username is 91GTstroked. I just started being more active on there again since I bought my 90 coupe in 2019.

BTW that member Indy drives me crazy. A Mr. Know it all. I've never seen him post any pictures of his junk either...

I used to be on there a lot too back when I had my 2V. Went back after I bought the 2012 for a small stint. I think I know who you are talking about.

Seems like ever forum has a few. Anyone remember that guy with the first Gen Miata on here that was “always” going to buy another car, but something always stopped the deal? I think the last one he “was” going to buy was a Hellcat.

The 3V still has the best sound. One of the things it brings to the table with which the Coyote can't compete.
Something about a single, large exhaust valve. And while an x pipe or pro chamber offers the best scavenging, the exhaust tone sounds terrible to my ears. Which is why my GT500 is staying H pipe.

Ehhh. I think I read somewhere that an X-pipe only offers 1-2 HP over an H-pipe.

Forums are definitely on the come back. Can't count the number of FB quitters I've seen in the last few weeks.

They key will be classifieds coming back on forums/craigslist (or similar).

That's definitely one of the specific people I had in mind when I made my post. I've never encountered someone else that's both wrong and a dick to that extent (at least on forums, that's the default on social media). At least on some forums for classics they're a bunch of cranky old farts, but they know their stuff upside down and backwards.

Yeah, Facebook is garbage. Always has been. It's designed to keep you scrolling forever while pushing ads at you and stealing your data.

It makes following builds, finding tech and having dialog impossible. It also makes being able to quickly analyze a user's value impossible. You can't simply click the user name, pull up their builds and threads and get a feel for their legitimacy.

Classifieds are also garbage and pretty much worse then the classic CL postings. It's also hard to search.
