I wonder if anyone found that 3/8s I left on the turbo pedestal of my old 7.3. I rounded the bolt so I hammered a smaller 12pt on there and opted to leave it.

my daughter was helping put away my tools the other day

daughter: dad your 1/4 drive 7mm is missing
me: I know
daughter: where is it?
Me: I dropped it in the valley under the blower on the lightning
daughter: so, its gone forever.

I prefer to think of it as "converting it to 3/8" drive."

Where's your sense of adventure? I managed to drop an injector spacer under the valley of the blower. Couldn't wait another week for one plus machining. Couldn't use the hoist because the car is too low to get the legs under it. Had to hulk it out of the way and fish around for the spacer.

Plus with a socket, if you've got one of those articulated magnet tools you can get things out of pretty tight spaces. They're a huge help.

or I can order a new one.
I have plenty of various magnetic tools. Fishing something out of the valley of an iron block with a magnet doesn't work very well. And I sure the hell ain't removing the intake, paying for new intake gaskets just to replace a $6 socket. Which reminds me. I need to buy one.
