No shipment on Thursday. He said next shipment is expected Sat morning, but they have no idea what is in the shipment. He stated that when they get a months worth of ammo for the store in, it's all gone within an hour! I guess I'm headed there tomorrow morning.

So who's still going to range with this ammo shortage?
Wife and I will be, to finish sighting in our ARs. Ive got a few hundred rounds of some older M855 that Im using to rough center and get trigger time. Just need to find some match .223 for the final adjustment. Then some Winchester Q3340 to observer pattern and drop.

I bought a case of it over the summer. Its like a poor man's Black Hills 77gn OTM. Purple dyed training ammo production overrun for Homeland Security. Supposed to be ballistically similar so Homeland and other ABC agencies can get trigger time in with cheap rounds. Its got some great velocity out of a 16" barrel and its straight moving out of a 20". Has a crudely produced "otm" projectile, but still violently fragments on contact.

I was able to get my hands on 300 rounds of the now defunct USMC Mk318 Mod1. Those rounds are the first line of defense... and jesus christ are they fight stoppers out of 20" barrels. I just hope that someday we see bulk production of the now standard M855A1 make it to the civilian market. Doubt it with the new communists in office.

:( If only we HAD gun shows in CT. If they're being held, I surely don't know about it, and I check regularly. I think the nearest state with gun shows is PA.

I used to go once a week for years prior to the china virus. Now i am lucky to go once a month. There is a store local to me that gets ammo every Thursday and sells at pre shortage prices. 2 boxes per caliber per customer. I just keep buying what i can and stacking it away right now until things calm down. Its gonna be a long long wait until things stabilize. Assuming they ever do based on the current political climate.

You in SATX?...right? Where are you finding ammo locally? I can’t seem to find .45 auto lately.

I took the wife last week. I needed to sight in the AR and she hadn't shot it yet. We ran the 22 conversion in it for about 300 rounds then shot 100 rounds of 223. She had more fun with the 22 conversion and I liked saving the good ammo lol.

Gun shows are outrageous at least around here. Even when ammo was normal stock they were at least 50% more expensive than about any box store.

Bought 100 round boxes of 223 tula for 29.99 at academy a few weeks ago. Haven't had any luck since and after this week I don't expect to have much luck for a long time.

I built an Aero plinking upper, no name BCG and used spare parts from my old rifle for the lower. Idea was to train hard on steel case with this rifle. Its whole point of life is to eat nothing but shit ammo and steel case so our "Go to War" rifles only eat brass. I cant even afford to feed the dedicated shit ammo rifle shit ammo, let alone steel ammo.

@SHOdown220 I hate to say it but you're right. Might be YEARS before any semblance of normal comes back.
