The land of commies and socialists!
I would assume the tech quality is similar to youtube comments.

I would say that is a fair assessment based on my own experiences in more than a few groups.

You usually have half a dozen people out of say 50 that know what they are talking about. Out of those 6 maybe 3 can actually articulate and convey the information. Then you have the incompetent cry babies who bitch to the owners/admins that you hurt their feeling because you told them they were wrong. It's a total joke.

Not trying to cut an infomercial here, but everything you guys are mentioning is a reason to support SVTP. Contributions from members in the form of quality content really helps. If you want to make a monetary contribution; which helps keep the lights on; becoming a Premium Member, joining a support tier, or buying some merch definitely makes a difference. As does sharing links from SVTP on other platforms and subscribing to our YouTube channel.

I'm on FB, but only for car news. Nearly everything is there. It's a must in order to keep up with what's going on in the car world.

I started a FB group, back in 14' for a niche audience and put a priority on good content and no trolling. That said, it has a solid following now and people are nice to each other. It's about a third of the size of what it could be, but it's not a $hit show either. Nearly 8,000 members currently and most of them participate.

The search function is very useful. That's a big misconception.

I would like nothing other than forums to make a comeback. I would just start my own from my FB group and roll.

I have been an SVTP member for a long time, check in regularly and always will.

This is exactly why I'd like to see car related stuff go back to places like this. Let's also not forget how shitty the search function is on Facebook too.

I will also add that the amount of incompetent ****s that belong to those groups trying to give advice is staggering. I have had my CORRECT information deleted and the complete and utter BS that was spewed left on the page with no explanation.

I think the worst was watching a guy try and sell a fake or theft recovered terminator. I pointed it out to the page owner and in the post and nothing was done, literally no F's given. The dude even messaged and threatened me for pointing out his BS and the page owner didn't do a damn thing. All I was looking for was a warning to potential buyers nothing more.

Any FB groups is only as good as those who admin is, same for any forum.

In a FB group, the search feature isn't that bad, but it could be better. Group wise, that's when admin need to step up and make announcement posts with links to specific discussions. In a local group, someone asks about best pizza in our area, almost weekly. They get the same responses. I've said it would be easy for admin to make a poll, lock is as an announcement, and point people towards that next time the question comes up. Then comes the Karens with "Geez, I was just asking for advice, you don't have to comment if you don't like." or "you know, different people have different opinions, so I want to hear how people currently feel."

I dumped twitter after this happened. there is a clear double standard and whatever they get from my participation, even under pseudonym, I'm not willing to let them have anymore.

I haven’t had social media since MySpace was a thing. Never got a Facebook account and I can’t imagine I ever will. Facebook marketplace has essentially taken the place of Craigslist so that seems to be the only thing Facebook is good for.
I loathe social media and what it is doing to society. It is a cancer and needs to be eradicated before society is completely destroyed

I got rid of mine years ago.

There’s something about ex’s and old hookups reaching out and messaging me that the wife didn’t particularly care for. Honestly haven’t missed it.

She has one so like said previously, If I’m looking for something or need to sell something I use hers.

Got a feeling I’d stay in Facebook jail anyways.

I've logged in a few times but just can't do it. Deleted my account a few months ago and man does it feel good.
