I like them too, but

would’ve rattle-canned them white.

Eh. I dont do rattle can paint jobs. I could get them wrapped white. I dunno though, with Konig coming out and saying they are open to making 15x8's in the Dekagram in matte black, i think a set of black vents w/ the black 15" dekagrams would kind of tie everything together?

Either way, hood vents never look perfect. Im happy with how they turned out and that they sit flush. I do curse Verus for the junky instructions and no measurements but in the end the vents function very well and keep the car cool while hot lapping it for over an hour.

Signed up for the GFE Refrigerator Bowl Trackcross series. Events are 11/15, 12/13, 1/10, and 2/21 all at Summit Point on Shenadoah and Jefferson. Anyone else in the area planning on signing up?

Hope to have the Chump Car completed by that point and run that in an event or two. Fiesta will certainly be there for at least two events.

For the Fiesta, plan is to add some camber up front with camber bolts along with going to my E30 tune.

I like that idea! White wrapped vents would be too much white for me. JMO.

So in an attempt to remedy the no camber situation i went and purchased a set of DNA Racing camber plates for the front. Also, there is a gentlemen on one of the Fiesta forums offering rear camber shims. I grabbed those also.

So plan is to dial in -2.5 degrees of camber up front and hopefully get around -1.8 degrees in the rear with the shims.

Will update when i receive the camber plates and put them on.

Camber plates came in. Things are really nice and will work on my current Bilstein B8/Swift Spec-R combo along with a future coilover upgrade from Bilstein that im waiting to come down in price.

It has 4 different predetermined settings with the one bolt on the top. Ill try them out first and see what camber i get for each. If i need more or want to fine tune it better i can remove that bolt and set it to where i exactly need it.

For $329 these are a very nice set from DNA Racing/Whoosh Motorsports. Hope this will quell my shoulder wear quite a bit.

There is a person who is talking with a Konig rep about doing a run of 15x8 +35 Dekagram wheels for the Fiesta. If it works, $750 or so plus some new 225's will be on the way in matte black. Should tie the car together and give me a ton of tire on track.

Matte black wheels definitely would tie the car together. Keep us posted Kevin.

Welp, plopped down $763 on a set of 15x8 Konig Dekagrams in a group buy. They at 15x8, 4x108, 73mm hub bore, matte black and +35 offset. They will fill the wheel wells out with some 225/45R15 200 treadwear gummies of some sort - thinking of trying the new Nankang CR-1?

Once they come in ill shelve the 16x8's for another day(may a 215/225 setup for those?).

On another note, installing the camber plates this weekend but may not even run the Fiesta in the next trackcross event since i have heard from the builder that my 2002 Elantra Chump Car will be done this week. So may take that up to get some time on the build and shake things out. We will have to wait and see.

R888 comes in 225/45/15.

Going to stick with a street tire in the 200 treadwear class. Once i move to a 140 or less treadwear is when my classing will change. Right now im top 2-3 people in SF2 which is front wheel drive, 2.0L or greater or forced induction and 200+tw tires.

My CP-E rear torque mount bushings separated from the mount causing NVH and wheel hop at the last trackcross event.

Sent CP-E an email stating my mount is coming apart and they will not replace the lifetime warranty bushings without a receipt. They want $40+ shipping to press in new bushings. That is more than half of a new RMM mount from other companies. I grabbed a Boomba rear torque mount from another vendor and will get it installed shortly before the next trackcross. It seems to be a captured bushing so hopefully it will reduce the issues i have with the CP-E mount.

Really dismayed that CP-E did not retain customer data from purchases on the move from Maryland to South Carolina. This will probably be the last time i do business with them.

Who did you talk to there?

Should have told me, I would have gotten you around the receptionist. :D
Didnt even know it could go farther. The website states to send an email to the support email for warranty claims.

Want a mount? Im not going to use it at this point.

If I have to go through hoops and talk to higher ups just to get a basic warranty covered then I won't use that companies product.

Next event is this coming weekend. Summit Point - Shenandoah w/ GFE at the Refrigerator Bowl. Two excellent looking courses this weekend and i am super excited to try out the new set of tires 215/45R16 Azenis 615k+ which will go on the 16x8 Dekagrams. The old 205/45R16 RS-Pro tires will go on a set of 16x7 wheels for our Chump Car which will allow us to run bigger brakes up front.

Course layouts for this weekend.

Looks like fun courses. I'm familiar with your ST, but not your 2002 Elantra Chump Car. More details on that one?
