personally i'd rather buy apple and msft

Obviously it's your choice, but I will point out that LRCX has outperformed both AAPL and MSFT over the past five years.

The beauty of it is, it doesn't matter who wins the software wars, and to a large extent the hardware wars. All chip makers use Lam tools to make their chips.

LRCX just keeps charging. Over the past 3 months MSFT is down 1.2%, AAPL is down 7.7%, and LRCX is up 26%. Over the past 6 months MSFT is up 16%, AAPL is up 44%, and LRCX is up 71%.

What do you guys think about the booming market in general the past couple days? False sense of prosperity or does the promise of a vaccine really influence outlooks that greatly?

If he slows production here in the US, there is less supply. More demand. Back towards 80-90 dollar oil. The smaller ones get hurt but there’s ways to make more money

Really depends...my main customer is a “small guys”, but they are the most efficient and cost savvy I’ve ever seen. We have 2.5-3 years of work no matter what happens. They never stopped drilling during the shut downs so they are way ahead, like over a years worth of work waiting on us right now.

Only way to slow production is if the price tanks again. He couldn’t shut it off if he wanted to.

Not sure what bubble you live in but the US drilled 45,000 oil and gas wells in 2019. We are on pace this year to drill 11,000. The last time the US drilled 11,000 wells was 1930. Production in the US is going to TANK. I can’t see prices staying low. IMO it’s what the elites want as they are heavily invested in “green” energy and oil at 40 makes “green” not even close to being financially viable. Who knows, maybe we just buy oil from Iran now? The days of being energy independent are gone unless we get 700 drilling rigs fired up right away.

Well they are mostly compressed due to the historically low price due to our supply.

I just hope we don’t go back to fight over there which is mostly about oil when it comes down to it.

I cut bait on Tesla (+44%) and my oil stocks (~+35%) today. Bought a few shares of AMZN to ride for a few weeks, and keeping the rest ready to ride oil again when it tanks.

Sold:
CLR
SLB
OXY
VLO
XOM
CVX
TSLA

If you're long on oil, read this and tell me if you think the Saudis will HAVE to start pumping a lot of oil.

While I love being energy independent...I don't like it from a long view strategic stand point.
We are producing to the point where we are becoming the worlds largest oil & NA exporter. Why are we selling our naturally occurring nonrenewable resources to other countries at cheap prices?
I would much rather suck the middle east completely dry, first.
Then they can sit there and rot, while we continue to operate on our own reserves.

While there is some wisdom in your post I believe long before we consume all our own oil for transportation fuels there will be alternative fuels besides electric cars. Hydrogen fueled perhaps.
The world will still need petroleum for plastics and numerous other chemical
products.

Wash Sale Adjustment. Learn something every day, had never been affected by this rule, so didn't realize it existed. Not a big deal, but now I know.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
  • A wash sale occurs when an investor sells or trades a security at a loss, and within 30 days before or after, buys another one that is substantially similar.
  • It also happens if the individual sells the security at a loss, and their spouse or a company they control buys a substantially similar security within 30 days.
  • The wash-sale rule prevents taxpayers from deducting a capital loss on the sale against the capital gain

Get caught on that one quite regularly. Fidelity gives me a little icon notification. Usually happens when I sell a stock if it breaks below support and then rebuy after it finds a new support level for the ride up.

I know the market never topped, i find it comical that congress cuts a 900B stimulus( which i know we all knew was coming)... and the S&P barely blips a 10 handle.

If she closes red tomorrow i may pull a few levers... we blew quite a load to get up here for sure.

Im riding IZEA like a bronco. Stock is going to blow up in my opinion. They have influencers flocking to them, to market to companies as a middle man, plus a ton of data and market info for big companies. They have rebooked disney, signed t-mobile, running whiskey ads for Makers Mark, and a ton of others. Ive got 16k shares in this baby, and I think its just going to go astronomical! Take a peak if you have extra cash laying around!

I have traded that one a few times. Was looking at it last week when it was consolidating around .85 and thinking that I should pick up a few thousand shares. Unfortunately I did not.
Of course the scary part going in heavy on a stock like that is when they drop an after hours offering on you and screw up your gains.
