I used to live in that area. I remember North Bros having an amazing selection. That and briarwood ford in Ann Arbor having a ton of left over 04's. I remember taking a picture. I really wish I know where its at. My buddy got a killer deal on a black 04 coupe with black inserts. I wanna say he got 2500 off sticker but I could be wrong. He was 18 at the time and worked 2 jobs to pay for it LOL. He ended up selling it a few years later for nothing IMO. All it had was a catback and intake with 16k miles.

I would have loved to have bought a new one at 18. Not the most practical thing but **** it lol

All the trucks and cobra mentioned in that pic are now absolutely hammered or wrecked.

Wow...a different time. With as expensive as the new Shelby's are, it makes my 2011 look like a bargain.

I am happy to see though you ng guys and gals being able to buy new Mustang GTs or Coyote F-150 RCSBs, add a blower kit or nitrous and rip it up in Mexico. Speed finds a way, even if Ford has completely forgotten the working class for wild performance.

That dealership photo took me back to 2004-2005 and Tasca Ford in Rhode Island. I know I've got some photos somewhere.

Tasca Ford Car Show from back around summer 2004 I believe. They used to do one every summer. Great shows with a huge crowd, and lot of factory cars and trucks to see! I used to love driving to Tasca (Cranston, RI) just to browse through their cars on the lot and in their showroom. We didn't have any dealership that big here in CT that I was aware of.

KR500 done for Tasca. Basically a ported blower and regular bolt-on mods.

Adjusted for inflation a 2004 cobra would cost around 48,000 in 2020.

That's not a good deal. The regular GT now beats it's ass in every metric. I'm glad it's not 2004 anymore.

It’s way more than just that.
I picked up my ‘04 in September 2004 while 2005 Mustangs were just on the lots. Only month of Mustang rebates available on SVTs, plus using an uncles A-plan made the $34k sticker down to $26k if my memory serves.
I gladly accepted the fair trade on my ‘01 Cobra and was living the dream.
The Cobra is not a regular Mustang, and the mod potential was unreal.
Great memories.

I like them but I'm just not seeing it. I would hate to go back to 2004 and only have those options.

I could have grabbed an 03 for $28k, and passed on it. My father worked at a Ford dealership for over 35 years, and I was going to utilize the family discount plan. I passed on it, and bought my 98. Never really regretted my decision either.

I guess it depends what you want. I’d walk into a dealership and spend $40k on a new 2004 right now. That longblock can take 800rwhp without issue plus I still love the styling. All depends on what you want like you said, way more options now.
An ‘03-04 Cobra will always be a good choice.

I wonder what ford could produce the car for now. Probably for much cheaper
