Found myself staring at two of our client cars today. S197 & S550 GT500’s both rolling on our Signature Wheel SV105.
.
Two totally different engineering approaches. Manual vs Auto. Solid axle vs IRS. Was one better?
.
Always wanted a 13/14 GT500 but never owned one. Curious who’s had both and which you like more?
.
At this point I can only see electric integration as being the next step in evolution.

I don't think there is $70,000ish difference in value between the 2014 and 2020 CFTP at least for me. There is no way I'd pay the crazy numbers over sticker people are paying. I recently bought a 2011 GT500 and it will do everything I want and I didn't have to tie up $120,000+ to have this year's latest and greatest.

By the way, those rims look great.

Looks good. I myself, would prefer a bit more sidewall on the fronts of the 14 though. My personal choice.

i like the 14 better, the front on the new gt500 in that color look like a big mouth bass. and it look fat next to the 14. wheels look nice on it.

Obviously the new 500 is better in every way. But the 14-15s are still very special and seem to be holding their value very well. Would love to see how much quicker the 13-14 would be with a 10A

Good Lord that wheel choice and color on the S550 is stunning.

That said, the 13/14 s197 design is going to prove timeless. Also an awesome choice.

I would be 100% happy having either parked in my garage! If there's one advantage a '13-14 has over the 2020+ would be the glass roof.

I've discussed with others that if you had a time machine and could show someone from the late 60's the '13/14 Mustang without any badges I'd bet they'd still know it was a Mustang. It was the peak of that classic mustang "evolution." It has a chance of being the modern equivalent of the '69-70. It has the looks, the powerplants, and the last offered with a SRA, and the glass roof (love mine.)
The 2020 is more "revolutionary" as with the S550 family it has added much more refinement and technology and has gone more to being a sports car, than traditional pony car. But as a result it's getting harder to see the family resemblance, aside the tribar tail lamps.

I agree with you, the S197 has a more classic Mustang look with smooth lines. Timeless design IMO. And, of course, it has the manual. Oh, and the wheels are a really nice enhancement.
