Got everything back from the machine shop so now the fun starts.

Livernois Drainback Kit is installed. Cobra Engineering upgraded pins. Lots of ARP stuff.

Awesome build, looks like your enjoying it! Love the attention to details especially with the powder coating.

Curious how things turned out with the Teksid blocks. Did they have to go 20 over to clean them up? Keeping one for a spare?

I just went 10 over on the block. I actually have two more Teksids. I do have them as spares as I plan to get another GT or Cobra and do a drag oriented build.

Did you have a hard time finding a shop that would go 10 over?

I ask because in my area most shops don't even like going 20 and prefer 30. Some shops refuse to touch the block if you want anything less than 30. Also finding a shop with torque plates is nearly impossible, its beyond frustrating here.

No problem on finding a shop to go 10 over. The two shops I was deciding between both are known to be able to do whatever you need done.

Got some factory Ford wiring connectors from a junkyard to make my connections for my Innovate gauges. Modified the brackets for the gauges and mounted them. I need to adjust the one to level it but I think they look good.

I got a bunch of tools to either build my 2V or make an expensive ****ing paperweight that forces me to go Coyote Swap due to anger issues. Lol

Do you want to play a game? I do...

The name of the game is, “Successfully Built 600+ hp 8K RPM 2V or Expensive Paperweight, Anger, and Coyote Swap”

This is one of my plans for my time off over the holidays.

Any updates on this?

Yes, it has either been too damn cold to work in the garage or I have spent the time with my daughter or wife instead of working on this. I am still putting in over 60hrs a week with work. I am hoping to maybe get some time this weekend. I’d at least like to get the bearings in the damn rods. Lol

That's been my problem as of late. I've lost 4 good days to it flat out being to cold to work in the garage.

@Deceptive

Did you prime and then paint the engine bay?

And if so did you allow the primer to dry, sand it then paint base coat and clear?

I am debating on whether or not to sand my primer after drying or just go straight to base after the primer flashes.

Well, things have taken a turn with the build since I picked up the Mach 1.

I picked up a Gen 1 F150 Coyote with a 6R80.

Plan is to have the 6R80 inspected and at most a factory refresh.

Gen 3 GT rods and pistons in the Gen 1 block. Gen 2 GT cams with valve job, refresh, and upgraded pistons in the Gen 1 heads, and Gen 3 intake manifold.

I cleaned, primed, then painted. It is the engine bay so no need to go too crazy.

Dude! Sweet! I have a 5lb sledge if you just want to smash a hand and get the pain out of the way. I have done similar with turbo setups. I like the new direction! Are the gen 2cams essentially boss 302 cams? Or similar specs? Will the factory dash still work or will that be another hornets nest to dive into? I like the idea of a dedicated track car and a quick runaround car you can put the top down in. Apparently it’s a car guy thing to have extra engines laying around as I just got another one for the cobra, because 750 just isn’t enough. I am looking into the same computer solution for flex fuel so I can drive more(e85 isn’t available instate).
Great new direction, I do love the plan and would do something similar. Just sucks spending a lot in one direction and taking a loss on those parts. That explains the sledgehammer remark. Been there and have done it. Good to see you back at it and looking forward to seeing the new progress

I am fine with the waste in money as I think this makes more sense as far as direction goes.

So after some research I cannot do some of what I wanted to do.

I will just be buying a Gen 3 shortblock. I am trying to find Gen 1 intake cams from the GT. If I can’t find any super cheap I am going to get L&M intake cams. The trans will get refreshed and, most likely, a Circle D converter.

Again, I bet the car will make 450+ hp to the wheels.

Both cars have their respective keychains now.

The Coyote is on the engine stand and I have started disassembly.
