The all-new class-exclusive 3.5-liter PowerBoost full hybrid is the most powerful option in the F-150 lineup, making 430 horsepower and 570 lb.-ft. of torque. Not only does this powertrain deliver the most torque ever in an F-150, its standard Pro Power Onboard brings unmatched exportable power, 2.4 kilowatts of standard power and an available 7.2 kilowatts – enough to power 28 average refrigerators.

Technology and Innovation That Count

The all-new F-150 adds technology that works to improve towing convenience and driver confidence. It is the only light-duty full size pickup with available Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Trailer Reverse Guidance. New Trailer Reverse Guidance uses the truck’s high-resolution cameras to provide multiple views along with helpful graphics that tell drivers which way to turn the steering wheel when backing up. Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes backing up a trailer as easy as turning a dial.

F-150 provides customer-focused features including standard 4G LTE modem with Wi-Fi hotspot, new standard tailgate clamp pockets, available Interior Work Surface, available Tailgate Work Surface, available Ford Co-Pilot360™ 2.0 and available class-exclusive Max Recline Seats.

The all-new 2021 Ford F-150 goes on sale this fall. It is proudly built and assembled in America at Dearborn Truck Plant in Dearborn, Michigan, and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri.

The 1/2t trucks now days have more than enough power... thats definitely not the problem.

Also your idea of "heavy" might greatly differ from someone elses.

14k with a 1/2T truck is truly a LOL proposition.

Enclosed trailer?
Enclosed and open.

Lightning - 5k. Trailer 2500. Two motorcycles. Plus all the gear to go racing. Probably closer to 9k

Enclosed trailer was 3500 empty plus fuel and tool box. So closer to 4000. Lightning again at 5k.

New super duties are a lot lighter than they used to be. My 08 was 8400. My 17 was 7200. Both cc short boxes.

I'm not ok towing 14,000. But a modern half ton is more than enough for 99% of people towing.

rofl.

Absolutely NOT.

Camper sales boomed and you know a LOT of big campers are being towed by half ton trucks. Not saying it's ideal, but a LOT of Americans are making it work. Some only got pulled a little, but you know there were 2.7 ecoboost trucks doing serious work pulling out west. The old, if it fits in the camper it comes along, is a motto many RVers use.

There is no doubt the new stuff is VERY capable. Im def not arguing that.

My 2011 3.5 ecoboost had a shit-ton of power on tap.. it towed like a mini-diesel to be honest. The power was impressive.

The soft suspension, however, simply was NOT confidence inspiring at all. I added air bags to the rear of my truck and added also E-rated tires which helped some, but not enough. I also gave up that sweet ride while unloaded after those add-ons.

My loaded down toybox at that time was around 9500 lbs.

Question, Can the powerboost option be used to power a travel trailer or small 5th wheel?

And NFW would I tow 14k with a half ton. I hate towing 12k with our CC SRW F350. Plenty of power and brake but it just moves the truck around too much for my liking on the pintle. I'll do it but I'd rather take our DRW Cummins or F650.

Good point on the dually. Im towing about 12.5k with a loaded down 5th wheel toybox and dual rear wheels would make the truck feel more planted.

Having towed the exact same enclosed 24' trailer and race car from KC to Denver and back with both an 17 F150 Ecoboost and a 17 F250 6.7 Powerstroke I'd take the super duty every day. The F150 could still comfortably do 80+ mph across Kansas, but a crosswind would send me across the lane. It was honestly a bit white knuckle most of the trip. The Super Duty barely noticed it. An extra 2,000lbs(minimum) on the truck really makes a difference in stability with heavier trailers.

Last time I checked, the 2020 F-150 Limited was available with a 450 hp HO 3.5L. This new power boost truck, the most powerful power plant currently announced for the 2021 model including the limited, is only 430hp. Has anyone else noticed this?

If the specs are right for 2021 they have dropped the 3.5HO motor.

Im guessing since they raptor is gone for a year or 2 and wont be getting the 3.5HO any more.

Wondering if the Powerboost is a mild hybrid system like on most German cars which is located between engine and transmission . I looked under the hood of my wife's GLS450 which has 3.0T engine with mild hybrid . Looks like that hybrid system takes care of alternator and starter . WP ,PS and A/C are electric too so there is no serpentine belt on the engine . Looks weird as hell to see crank balancer only spinning

ya pretty sure it’s fitted to the front of the 10r trans so anything running that trans would be able to have a similar option in the future if they can make room for the batteries
