I wasn’t thinking you hijacked the thread, I think Kaz had us confused. post all you have to share. I appreciate the info. :)

No I didnt have you confused, which is why in my post I said " AO and not OP" I also said zr1 and not z06. I also never replied to your post but rather AO post.......

Amazing time and trap! What year is your car?

2016. I think once the cooler air hits I should be able to go a little quicker. I drove the car to the track made a pass and went back to work, I didn’t have time to let it cool down. It was 84 degrees with a 3200DA

That’s freaking amazing! You’re also very lucky to have a track nearby. It’s too bad our nearest track is two hours away.

For sure, my personal opinion (as you can see already with the latest slip posted) is that the Z06 doesnt really get much much faster with mods. The stock record is 10.4@134 with stock tires. My car made 695RWHP/746RWTQ on race fuel and ran 10.5@134. Thats at least 100rwhp more than stock. What was the big difference?

Weather and trans tuning.

It was a really hot and humid july day on my 10.5 pass. My car was dyno'd with those numbers on cool early march day with no humidity.

Traction is severely limited with that kind of power and even on drag radials in the heat my car would not dead hook.

I have no idea what they did to the ZR1 (other than the incredible sport cup 2 tires) but my car almost dead hooks on stock tires and made 744RWHP on just boostane and GM perf intake. It's a stock car. The GM perf intake is actually a stock item that you can add to your build if you ordered one new. The ZR1 ecu adjusts for fuel up to 100 octane according to GM. My opinion is GM left 50-60RWHP on the table for just fuel. Incredible.

Your other limiting factor is the undersized blower they put on the Z06. You can only do so much to get it to add any more power and the more you do the more heat you create, which causes even more issues due to the stock heat issues the z06 has.

That being said I loved my Z06 and it is a force to be reckoned with. If I had to go back I would have kept mine stock and just enjoyed a high 10 second street monster.

I recall yours being a 7 speed manual so you wont need to worry about trans tuning, but I will post a video of mine acting funny in the mid 120mph range...it was like the torque converter was confused...Good luck with your pass, I look forward to your results.

Here's the video of my converter acting weird, on some occasions it was even worse. Right around the mid 120mph mark 7-9 seconds into the video.

Sorta like a little blip?
Is that is automatic mode or are you using the paddles?

I wonder if that's almost a safety feature on the transmission or something similar?

no idea, but only a few trans tuners in the country know how to fix it. almost every single z06 owner with the a8 experiences it. my zr1 doesnt have that issue, same trans but gm apparently put better tuning on it...video...

Damnnnn,...that ZR1 man. Such a beast!
I'm so mad at myself for not buying one. But, I couldn't have afforded it anyways. lol
