Has anyone tried a set of these yet on a car making around 750whp? Trying to decide between this or the tried and true NT555R. Any real world reviews are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

They are ok, I found the Mickey Thompson et street R to be far superior.
Yeah I've heard good things about the Mickey Thompson ET Street R. From what I gathered, the ET Street R is great on the track but not so great on the street and the NT555R is better on the street but not as good as the Mickeys on the track

If your looking for a great street tire for that kind of power level the Nitto 555R and R2 are great i just got my 1st set lf the 555RII and 555g2 in the front for my 500. They are good on the street and very well mannered on the twisties. So far i like them a little better than my old set up. 555R and 555 extreme.

Good to know. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding the NT555R and it seems like the NT555RII are readily available but I'm not seeing much feedback on them.

How does it hook on the street in 1st or 2nd gear? Thanks,

I dont ever see me doing anything besides hoosiers. I make 600rwhp na and 730 on a 150 shot. I can dead hook a 40 roll in 1st gear on motor and dead hook a 60 roll in 2nd on nitrous.

The RII are new this year thats why its hard to find feed back. Based on the tread pattern it looks like it will be better overall tire compared to the 555R. For matching sets they pair well with the G2.

As the old 555R pared well with the 555 extreme.

I haven't done any launches to give a fair comparison too the old 555R. I can say they hook great down shifting to 3rd at 60mph. I would say when you warm them up they should hook, but if your gonna be launching at the track im sure you will still get spin.

I have NT555R's on my car, 815rwhp. They do exceptional on days you have business messing around with a "fast" car, i.e. 65-70 degrees and warmer, and they don't absolutely suck in a modest rain, either.

G2's up front for uniformity.

Have you ever run R888's or the new R888R's, if so which has better manners in the rain the Toyo's or the Nitto's??? I will need to replace my R888's eventually and would like something that can survive getting caught in the rain.

I've driven my Z06 with R888R in the rain on the highway. No issues.

same, 80mph in a FL downpour without issue

Thanks guys, glad to hear that. Would you prefer the R888R's over the G2 555R's, re-read my original question and thats what I meant to ask but not clearly obviously. Will edit.
